The Stockholm Open is in full swing, with top names like Holger Rune, Casper Ruud and Denis Shapovalov all taking part.
Jacob Fearnley was the first to book his spot in the next round, beating Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 on Monday.
Sebastian Korda followed that up by knocking out seventh seed Alexei Popyrin in three sets (6-7, 6-1, 6-3).
But perhaps the biggest surprise of the day came when world number 633 upset Sebastian Ofner to record just his second-ever ATP Tour main draw win.
Leo Borg, son of tennis icon Bjorn Borg, put in the best performance of his career to advance at the Stockholm Open.
He had just one ATP Tour main draw win to his name before facing Ofner in Sweden. However, on Monday, he doubled that tally by defeating Ofner 6-3, 6-4.
Ofner has been going through a rough patch lately and has now lost nine matches in a row. The result sees the 22-year-old Borg jump up to number 516 after picking up 24 ATP points.
Leo Borg faces a tough challenge in the next round, where he’ll take on world number 23 Denis Shapovalov.
The Canadian third seed picked up one ATP Tour title this year at the Los Cabos Open. This will be their first meeting on the ATP Tour, which isn’t surprising given Borg’s recent rise.
Although Shapovalov is the clear favourite, there may be a chance for another upset. The 24-year-old has had stretches of inconsistent play this season. His recent straight-sets loss to unseeded Daniel Altmaier at the Japan Open is a good example.
If Borg can get inside Shapovalov’s head early, he might have an opportunity to pull off something unexpected once again.
