Nick Kyrgios recently made headlines after revealing that Jannik Sinner will have a better career than Carlos Alcaraz because the Spaniard loves girls and will certainly get distracted. Alcaraz has responded to comments with no iota of offense, stating that it doesn’t surprise him that it’s coming from the Australian star.

Alcaraz and Sinner have dominated the men’s circuit in the past two years and look set to continue for years to come. With the former at 22 and the latter at 23, there have been debates about who will win more titles at the end of their careers. Currently, Alcaraz leads their head-to-head titles record 21-19, including their Grand Slam titles record 5-3.

However, Sinner has been a more consistent player in the last eighteen months. In fact, he has lost only eight times since the start of the 2024 season and five of those losses have come against Alcaraz. Meanwhile, Alcaraz has had his usual struggles on the court, but this season has done well to win titles.

During a conversation between Patrick Mouratoglou and Kyrgios, they were contemplating who would finish with more titles at the end of their careers. Kyrgios was quick to reveal that Sinner will have a better career because Alcaraz will be distracted by his love for girls.

After Alcaraz’s win over Jan-Lennard Struff in the third round of the Wimbledon Championship, he was asked for his reaction to the comments. The Spaniard revealed that he’s currently working on being more consistent but he’s not surprised it came from Kyrgios:

They’re funny comments, which coming from him, don’t surprise me. It’s no secret that Jannik always has fewer ups and downs than me. It’s something I’ve been working on. It has nothing to do with the nightlife world.

Meanwhile, Sinner and Alcaraz are in the fourth round of Wimbledon. Both players are projected to face each other in the final of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament. Should it happen, it will be a repeat of the French Open final, where Alcaraz came from two sets down to beat the Italian star in a five-set thriller.

Carlos Alcaraz proud of reaching the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championship

Carlos Alcaraz had to be on high alert against Jan-Lennard Struff in their third-round tie as he fought his way past the German. The big-serving and big-hitting German star won the second set after coming down from 1-2. But, Alcaraz had to find his weak spots, which provided him more chances to take down the 35-year-old 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and 53 minutes.

The win was Alcaraz’s 17th consecutive victory at the All England Club. After the match, he admitted he had to fight hard to beat Struff:

I knew at the beginning it was going to be really difficult. That I would have to be really focused on every shot and on my service games and return. I think his game suits pretty well to the grass. Big serves. Approaching the net as much as he can. I am really pleased with everything that I have done today.

Alcaraz will now take on Andrey Rublev in the fourth round on Sunday (July 6). The former leads the latter in their head-to-head record, 2-1, and also won their most recent meeting at the ATP Finals in Turin last year. The only time Rublev defeated Alcaraz was at the 2024 Madrid Open in three sets.
