Iga Swiatek just cannot stop winning at the moment. In the last 24 hours, she has won an astonishing three matches. Yesterday, she won her first Cincinnati Open title, defeating Jasmine Paolini in the final.

Today, in the US Open mixed doubles, she has reached the semifinals after winning two matches. Casper Ruud , her doubles partner, shared words of appreciation for the former World No.1’s dedication. Ruud said in the post-match interview at the US Open:

Everyone should show appreciation to Iga because she got to her hotel 12 hours ago, 2:30 am. Thank you so much Iga.

Swiatek has started to show the form that made her World No.1. Until Roland Garros, she had gone an entire year without a WTA Title. Now, first Wimbledon title and a maiden Cincinnati Open title has brought back the confidence in the Pole.

On the other hand, Ruud will be hoping to reach a fourth Grand Slam final and a second in New York. He lost in the 2022 US Open final to Carlos Alcaraz.

Points earned by Iga Swiatek at Cincinnati Open

World No.2 Iga Swiatek has captured her first Cincinnati Open crown after a straight-sets victory over Jasmine Paolini in the final. The win not only gave her a ranking points boost but also added a significant prize money reward.

In her 13th WTA 1000 final, Swiatek secured her 11th title at this level and her first in Ohio. She overcame Paolini 7-5, 6-4 to extend her dominance at the top of the women’s game.

The world No. 1 has now lifted trophies at eight of the ten WTA 1000 events. Only the Dubai Championships and the China Open remain absent from her collection. Paolini, meanwhile, was aiming for her third WTA 1000 triumph and second of the season after winning in Rome earlier this year.

Despite her effort, the Italian stays at two WTA 1000 titles, having also claimed the Dubai trophy in 2024. Winners at this level gain 1,000 points, though players must also defend points earned during the same period a year before under the 52-week ranking system.

Iga Swiatek makes history at Cincinnati

Outside of the four Grand Slams, WTA 1000 tournaments stand as some of the most prestigious titles in women’s tennis. Iga Swiatek’s recent Cincinnati Open victory has boosted her into the elite group of players with the most championships at this level. Since the Tier 1/WTA 1000 format began in 1990, only a select few have consistently dominated.

Swiatek now sits joint-fifth on the all-time list with 11 titles, equaling Lindsay Davenport. The Polish star has been especially strong in Rome, where she has won three times, while also taking multiple titles in Indian Wells and Doha.

She has further victories in Beijing, Miami, Madrid, and now Cincinnati. Davenport’s 11 came largely from her dominance at the Pan Pacific Open and Zurich Open , with other notable wins in Indian Wells and Southern California.

Ahead of them is Maria Sharapova with 14 titles, including three at the Italian Open and two apiece at Indian Wells, the Pan Pacific Open, and Southern California. Steffi Graf ranks third with 15, highlighted by her dominance at the German Open and Miami, along with triumphs across Indian Wells, Canada, and other major events. Just above her is Martina Hingis, who collected 17 trophies, powered by five wins in Tokyo’s Pan Pacific Open and multiple titles in Charleston, Rome, and Canada.

Sitting alone at the top is Serena Williams with an unmatched 23 WTA 1000/Tier 1 titles. Her tally includes a record eight Miami crowns, four in Rome, and three in Canada. She also collected multiple trophies in Indian Wells, Madrid, Cincinnati, and Beijing, cementing her place as the most successful player in this category.
