On the court, Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek might go toe-to-toe like true rivals, battling for every point. But once the final ball has been hit, it’s nothing but mutual respect and genuine camaraderie between these two young stars.

After watching Swiatek make history with her dominant run to her first Wimbledon title, Gauff didn’t waste any time in letting her know exactly how she felt about it. Gauff’s message was short, sweet, and straight from the heart, and it just proves that even in a sport built on fierce competition, there’s always room for love and admiration.

The 21-year-old, who was upset in the first round of the tournament, took to X to comment on a post by Wimbledon. The caption said, “congratulations @iga_swiatek on an incredible run!.”

She also sent a message to the other finalist, Amanda Anisimova, after the crushing defeat, saying, “so much to be proud of Amanda keep your head up.”

Eighth seed Iga Swiatek was unstoppable on Saturday, crushing 13th-seeded Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 to win her first Wimbledon title. Yep, a double bagel, the first in a women’s Grand Slam final since Steffi Graf did it back in 1988, and the first at Wimbledon since 1911!

Swiatek was nearly flawless, keeping her mistakes to a minimum and making the most of her chances. Meanwhile, Anisimova, who fought past top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka to reach her first Slam final, just couldn’t find an answer.

Despite the tough loss, the crowd as well as her opponent showed her love and appreciation. And as for Swiatek, she is now one Slam closer to that career Grand Slam, lacking only an Australian Open crown.
