Coco Gauff sets up potential French Open Andreeva semi-final showdown after all-American battle with Madison Keys

Coco Gauff will play in the semi-finals of the 2025 French Open and could take on Mirra Andreeva in a mouth-watering clash after she took down Madison Keys in three sets on Wednesday afternoon.

Gauff sealed it 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 in the end weathering an early storm against Keys who looked like she was going to potentially cause a shock in the all American battle. But Gauff weathered the storm and managed to seal the win in just over two hours.

Andreeva next faces off against Lois Boisson and then the line-up will be set with Iga Swiatek v Aryna Sabalenka the tie in the top half of the draw so Gauff no doubt will be favourite to reach another Grand Slam final.

The difference all around the court was unforced errors. Keys made an astonishing 60 of them throughout the tie as she spurned the early advantage she sealed through the tie-break.

Gauff herself wasn't in fine fettle either leaning into the error fest as she took the second narrowly 6-4. But in the end, it was a breeze in the final set 6-1 as she tied up her game and hit no unforced errors at all. While Keys did not do the same as she was making them all over the court which proved to be her downfall.

It was a gritty win for Gauff and perhaps not a confidence boosting one. But she is into the semi-finals in Paris and that is all that matters as she lives to fight another day. Keys now goes onto grass and heads to the UK for Queen's which takes place next week.

For Gauff, it is a fifth career Grand Slam semi-final at 21-years-old. A player who it feels has been around the sport for so long but in reality hasn't in regards to age and with a top name for sure losing in the top half, it could be her time. Albeit she will have to get past another young sensation in Andreeva.
