Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios, also known as the ‘bad boy of tennis’, is returning to the Australian Open as the year’s first Grand Slam is set to kick off on 14 January. While Kyrgios- the tennis player will be missed in Melbourne, the Aussie star will be donning the commentator’s hat for the 2024 Australian Open. Kyrgios will be working as a guest commentator for ESPN for the two-week-long tournament.
As tournament director Craig Tiley had promised, the 28-year-old will be involved in his home slam despite being unable to participate as a player. Kyrgios has signed a deal with ESPN for the 2024 Australian Open. This will be Kyrgios’ second project as a tennis commentator, as the Aussie had worked for Tennis Channel during the 2023 ATP Finals.
As ESPN announced Kyrgios’ onboarding as the commentator for the 2024 Australian Open saying his first-hand knowledge of the sport will bring crucial insights for the viewers, the Australian said that he could not have asked for anything better.
I recently hinted that I would have some special things planned for the Australian Open and this is one of them. I love watching tennis and to be able to break down matches on live television, for ESPN, in Australia, I almost couldn’t ask for anything better. Nick Kyrgios said. (via ESPN)
Nick Kyrgios to interview Novak Djokovic for his new podcast
Apart from working with ESPN as a commentator, Nick Kyrgios has signed multiple projects, including a video podcast series, Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist has teamed up with Naomi Osaka’s media company Hana Kuma to launch this podcast.
As a part of multiple interview series, Kyrgios will be interviewing ten-time Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic . As the Serbian ace will contest a charity match with Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari, and Stefanos Tsitsipas on Thursday night, Kyrgios will join him at Rod Laver Arena afterward for an interview.
Kyrgios will also interview Naomi Osaka and Frances Tiafoe . A few other prominent personalities from different verticals are expected to appear on Kyrgios’ podcast. Gordon Ramsay, Jemele Hill, Jay Shetty, Rainn Wilson, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Mike Tyson are among the other guests slated to appear on Good Trouble.

But it would be easier said than done, as Flagg finally got a chance to face off against James during the Mavericks’ final NBA Cup group-stage matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. Cooper Flagg praises LeBron James The Mavericks’ nightmarish season continued as they suffered a 129-119 defeat at the hands of their Western Conference rivals. While Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves were the stars of the show, James had an off-night. Despite that, Flagg had nothing but praise for the four-time NBA champion. “It’s incredible, obviously, to see what he’s still able to do. However old he is, it’s just incredible, and I think the best thing for him is how smart he is. “He’s always one of the smartest players on the court. He played with such a high IQ, making the game easy on himself,” Flagg said after the game. “Tonight, he didn’t do anything crazy; he didn’t have to. He just kept it simple and just made the smartest plays on every possession.” Despite being 40 years old, James’ elite IQ allows him to impact the game even during off-nights, and that’s what Flagg noticed. LeBron James vs. Cooper Flagg Even before playing a single game against him, James predicted Flagg’s development would be similar to Kawhi Leonard. However, Flagg has yet to reach that level as he had 13 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists against the Lakers. He didn’t stuff the stat sheet, but it was still an excellent double-double in the loss. On the other hand, James finished the night with 13 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the 10-point win. Looking at their stats, it makes sense why Mark Cuban compared Flagg to James. But let’s not forget that the two stars on the opposite end of their careers.
Cardinals' Richard Fitts Reveals Reaction To Getting Traded By Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox made their first major trade of the offseason earlier this week, and Richard Fitts was on the business end of the deal. Fitts started this season in the Red Sox rotation, but injuries and struggles both took a toll. He wound up with a 5.00 ERA in 45 innings, and briefly flirted with a move to the bullpen late in the year before elbow neuritis ended his year early. Now that he's been dealt to the St. Louis Cardinals as part of the package for three-time All-Star Sonny Gray, Fitts is looking forward to competing for a spot in a less experienced rotation. Fitts talks trade, Cardinals opportunity Fitts recently shared his mindset on the trade, admitting that he likely had a better chance to stick in the St. Louis rotation than he would have if he'd remained in Boston. “With this opportunity (with the Cardinals), if I am able to stay healthy, I think it’s just going to be a great fit and a way for me to stay in a rotation,” Fitts said, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. “I feel like I really grew as a pitcher with the Red Sox. "When I came over from the (New York) Yankees to the Red Sox, it was like, ‘Oh, this would be cool if I get to be a big leaguer over here.’ And now, moving to this opportunity, it’s like, ‘I am a big leaguer. How can I fit into (the Cardinals) rotation?’” Though he would have been buried on the depth chart a bit, the Red Sox definitely weren't happy to see Fitts go. He showed No. 4 starter promise during his September call-up a year ago, including a scoreless start against the Yankees, and he was a spring training darling this year, adding significant velocity and showcasing three breaking balls. While Gray gives the Red Sox a significantly higher floor than they had to start the week, the Red Sox know they incurred some long-term risks by moving on from Fitts and Brandon Clarke. But the beauty of building pitching depth over the past couple of years is that it allows them to take some risks.
Massive injury news in Buffalo gives Steelers a huge advantage
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a very crucial game coming up, as they face the Buffalo Bills in a contest that could have strong playoff implications down the road. After all the bad news and reports of dysfunction coming out of the locker room, they need this win to turn everything around and prove that they aren't just a total mess. Not only that, but a win would also set them up to take back control of the AFC North, especially with a date with the Baltimore Ravens just around the corner. The Steelers may have an advantage with a mismatch in the trenches. Joe Buscaglia, a beat writer for the Bills on The Athletic, explained how Buffalo could be put in a rough situation due to an injury to right tackle Spencer Brown. "Losing that level of talent [from Spencer Brown] is bad enough, but it’s multiplied by the disparity of on-field results between him and his likely backup, Ryan Van Demark," Buscaglia wrote. "Van Demark’s best position is left tackle, and when he’s subbed in at right tackle, it has led to some real opportunities for the opposition." Buscaglia also gave examples of how backup tackle Ryan Van Demark had his issues in the Bills' Week 12 loss, when he seemed to have no chance against elite edge-rusher Will Anderson. He was a big part of quarterback Josh Allen getting sacked eight times, and if he has to play against the Steelers' pass rush, there may be some big problems there. In fact, the Bills have not only ruled out Brown, but now left tackle Dion Dawkins is officially out with a concussion. Both tackles will be backups. Buscaglia noted that Van Demark is more comfortable at left tackle, but now they have a conundrum on the other side. He mentioned that Chase Lundt has only been active once for the Bills in 2025, and now he may have to start against TJ Watt. That is a nightmare matchup for anyone, let alone someone as inexperienced as Lundt. Either way, this is going to be a massive challenge for the Bills' offensive line. Two backup offensive tackles will be going up against a very strong pass rush. Van Demark will have his battles with Alex Highsmith, and both him and Lundt will have to try and slow down Nick Herbig as well, as he can wreak havoc on both sides of the line. Steelers and Bills will be intense coaching battle Head coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Joe Brady will have to help this makeshift offensive line in any way they can. Watt is still the most chipped player in the NFL currently, and there is no reason to not expect at least four hands to be on him on every single snap. Priority No. 1 is keeping these great edge-rushers from taking full advantage of the Bills' injuries in the trenches. Meanwhile, many teams have figured out how to slow down Mike Tomlin's defense, whether the opposing offensive line is at full strength or not. If the Bills successfully shut down the Steelers' pass rush, Tomlin will have to find a way to make adjustments and throw new things that these inexperienced tackles have not seen, like certain stunts and personnel shifts. Despite all the talent on both teams, coaching will most likely decide the victor.
Eagles fans loudly booed Nick Sirianni for questionable decision
Philadelphia Eagles fans were fuming at their team after the first half of Friday’s game against the Chicago Bears, and coach Nick Sirianni took a lot of heat for one particular decision. The Eagles offense once again struggled at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. on Friday, scoring just three points against the Bears. The Eagles tallied just two first downs and 83 total yards in the half while running only 17 plays. Sirianni remained conservative right down to the half. The Eagles got the ball back down a touchdown with 2:47 left, and completed a 1-yard pass on the first play of the drive. Sirianni then opted to let the clock run down to the two-minute warning instead of trying to run another play, leading to loud boos. The Eagles did have all three timeouts left, and Sirianni was likely trying to prevent the Bears from getting the ball back before halftime. Given how bad the offense had been up to that point, however, fans did not care one bit. Sirianni’s plan did not work, as the Eagles wound up going three-and-out. Sirianni was angrily yelling on the sideline at that point as the boos got louder. The Eagles were loudly booed off the field at halftime, and they were lucky to only be down a touchdown. The Philadelphia offense has been a source of frustration for much of the season, but things have hit a fever pitch after their collapse against the Dallas Cowboys last week. The Eagles ended up losing, 24-15. The team is 8-4, but if the offense does not turn around, they will have a hard time repeating as Super Bowl champions.
