Daniil Medvedev ends partnership with Gilles Simon after failing to ‘win any titles’ under the French coach

Daniil Medvedev is set to kick-start his campaign at the Rotterdam Open and ahead of the tournament, he announced that he is no longer working with Gilles Simon . Under the Frenchman, Medvedev didn’t win any title last year and also suffered a shocking second-round exit at the 2025 Australian Open.

With Gilles, we decided to stop working together. Honestly, it was a very good experience, with a lot of good things. But now, Gilles Cervara and I can move forward to work together. With Simon, it didn’t go exactly as we wanted, especially in terms of results. We didn’t win any titles, Grand Slams, or anything like that, but I learned a lot of new things about tennis: I’m sure it will help me in the future.
