Italy – Belgium: 21.11.2025 16:00 CEST
H2H: 6-4
Berrettini – Collignon
H2H: first meeting
Matteo Berrettini has won three of his last five matches. The last match he played before the Davis Cup was in Metz, where Tien defeated him in the quarterfinals in three tight sets. This week in Turin, the Italian helped Italy get the win over Austria. In the opening match, Berrettini defeated Rodionov in straight sets. In the second set, he trailed 2-5 but turned it around. He also saved three consecutive set points in the second set.
Raphael Collignon has won four of his last five matches. The last match he played before the Davis Cup was around two weeks ago in Bratislava, where he lost to Blockx in the semifinals in straight sets. So far this season, the Belgian has had his best results at the Challenger Tour level. This week in Turin, Collignon upset Moutet in three tight sets, after losing the opening set 2-6. In the third deciding set, the Belgian served well, not offering any breakpoints.
Berrettini is an experienced Davis Cup player. He enjoys playing at home, especially on indoor hard courts. He played well in the opening match against Rodionov. With the help of the crowd, we expect Berrettini to get the first win for Italy easily.
Bergs – Cobolli
H2H: 1-1
Zizou Bergs has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played before the Davis Cup was at the Masters 1000 in Paris, where he lost to Sinner in the second round in straight sets. This has been a solid season for the Belgian, who cemented his top 50 status. This week in Turin, Bergs defeated Rinderknech in straight sets and qualified Belgium for the semifinals. He dominated on his serve in the opening set, not offering any breakpoints. In the second set, Bergs saved two set points.
Flavio Cobolli has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played before the Davis Cup was in Metz, where he lost his opening match to Sonego in three tight sets. The Italian had a solid result and has now almost entered the top 20 in the rankings. This week in Turin, Cobolli demolished Misolic in straight sets. He offered and saved six breakpoints.
Bergs is a better indoor hard court player than Cobolli. The Italian always suffered on fast courts. We expect Bergs to secure Belgium’s first win.
Vavassori and Bolelli are both top 20 doubles players. Last week at the ATP Nitto Finals, the Italians made it past the group stage. However, they were stopped in the semifinals by Heliovaara and Patten in straight sets. They are one of the most experienced doubles players in the Davis Cup this season. We expect their experience to prevail in this deciding matchup.
According to the bookies, Italy are the favourites in this matchup and we agree. We expect the Belgians to steal one singles match. However, Bolelli and Vavassori will win in the deciding match.
That being said, Italy winning is a value bet.
