Tennis star Emma Raducanu was full of compliments for the security staff at Wimbledon, after it was revealed that a man who had been stalking the young Brit was banned from purchasing tickets to the upcoming Wimbledon Championships.

The man was issued a restraining order in Dubai after his presence at the Dubai Tennis Championships caused Raducanu to suffer a panic attack during her match and break down in tears on the court. The man had been following Raducanu to several events, but was finally apprehended after the former US Open champion identified him in the crowd during her match.

Wimbledon officials stated their security system had red-flagged the man's attempt to buy tickets for the All England Club and subsequently, his application had been rejected.

"Wimbledon did an amazing job," said Raducanu in an interview with the BBC. "I got a notification and the police contacted me and assured me that everything was okay. I feel okay, I feel comfortable and safe. I've had great protection whenever I've been at these events recently. I feel a difference and that makes me feel more comfortable."

The former World No.10 is scheduled to compete at this week's Eastbourne Open, the final grass warm-up event before Wimbledon. Raducanu will face American Ann Li in the opening round, as she finalizes her preparations for the biggest grass court event of the season.
