Emma Raducanu secured another victory at the WTA 500 Queen's Club Championships, maintaining her impressive form by defeating Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova 6-4, 6-1. The world No. 37 is playing for a chance to enter Wimbledon as a seeded player this week, though she'll need to reach the tournament final to do so.

This marks Raducanu's first quarterfinal appearance since the WTA 1000 Miami Open in late March, where she fell to world No. 4 Jessica Pegula. This time on grass, and with a pair of convincing wins, Raducanu sees good chances to keep advancing.

First Set: Raducanu dominates early, holds off Sramkova's push

With significant crowd support, Raducanu started the match in the best possible way, securing an early break. The Brit began her first service game well and then earned a second break, taking a commanding 3-0 lead. Sramkova hinted at a stronger challenge when she created three break opportunities in the fourth game, but Raducanu maintained her composure.

The world No. 37 even reeled off nine consecutive points to go up 5-0 without giving her opponent a chance. Sramkova managed to save two set points to get her first game of the match with a break against Raducanu. The Central European then managed to reverse roles, capitalizing on the momentum to secure two consecutive breaks, narrowing the lead to 5-4. It wasn't enough, however, as Raducanu closed out the set with a love game, taking a set that became a bit more complicated than it should have been, 6-4.

Second Set: Comfortable close for Raducanu

The progression of the second set didn't differ much from the first. Sramkova's low effectiveness on serve cost her a couple of early breaks, giving her opponent a significant advantage. The Brit won 12 of the first 15 points played and, with impeccable service games, managed to pull ahead 4-0.

Sramkova was on the brink of disaster while serving at 0-4, 0-40. However, she dug deep, winning five consecutive points to stay in the fight and secure her first game of the set. Despite this small victory, she couldn't mount a comeback against an opponent who was winning over 70% of points on her first serve. Raducanu then pressed the accelerator and finished the match with a final break – her fifth of the match – closing out the victory 6-4, 6-1 with an impressive level of play.

For a spot in the semifinals, she awaits the winner of the match between American McCartney Kessler and top seed Zheng Qinwen, who will play in the night session.
