Emphatic Emma Raducanu wins 12 out of the last 13 games to set up Coco Gauff clash at Rome Open in superb comeback win

Emma Raducanu may not be that used to clay as a surface but she is making more serious strides at the Rome Open sweeping aside Veronika Kudermetova after losing the opening set to reaching the Last 16.

Raducanu now faces off against Coco Gauff for a spot in the Quarter-Finals with the American managing to sweep aside Magda Linette 7-5, 6-3 just before Raducanu sealed the win.

It was a tough opening set for Raducanu who lost it 7-5. But it was more of a slow start than a poor one for Raducanu who would've been fearing the worst to start off.

But she managed to lock it together with two sublime sets of tennis. She won two sets on the spin losing just one game in an emphatic run for the Brit.

Having Mark Petchey there as a coach has managed to unlock a new level of consistency for a player who has often received barbs for not winning games and being a supposed hype job.

But she is making many eat their words with two good tournaments at the Madrid Open and Rome Open so far and now she gets a crack at Coco Gauff tomorrow. Raducanu has lost in their only career meeting so far but it will firmly be game on.

In what too will be a tough section of the draw in comparison to the bottom half. It has opened up at the bottom for the likes of Stearns, Svitolina among others but it is a tough assignment for the winner of Raducanu or Gauff likely. They will likely have to face Sabalenka after it.

But for now Raducanu who didn't expect much success on the surface and likely would've been thinking towards Roland Garros and then grass will no doubt take a huge amount of confidence from another comeback win.
