Following the 2025 US Open, the stars of the WTA will travel to nearby Sao Paolo, Brazil for the Sao Paolo Open, slated to run from September 8-14, 2025.

A WTA 250, the Sao Paolo Open will see tennis make it's return to Brazil in 25 years after the city hosted the Brasil Open. The modernized tournament will see 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams compete for their respective titles.

Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia will look to garner home support as the top seed at the event. The World No.21 has been in poor form over the last few months, suffering a second round loss at Wimbledon before falling in the opening round at the subsequent WTA 1000 events in Montreal and Cincinnati.

Joining Haddad Maia is young American star Hailey Baptiste, who has slowly been making a name for herself on the WTA Tour. The Washington native reached a career-high ranking of World No.48 in July, coming off a round of 16 showing at Roland Garros and a third round performance at Wimbledon this year.

More rising stars to compete in Sao Paolo

The WTA 250 event will see the return of Filipina tennis star Alexandra Eala, who stunned the tennis community with a semifinal showing at this year's Indian Wells event. The 20-year old shot to a career-high ranking of World No.56 in June, and will be eager to end the year on a strong note after the US Open.

Mexico's Renata Zarazua and Argentina's Solana Sierra round out the top five seeds at the event. Zarazua turned heads at the 2025 Cincinnati Open, where she pushed former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina to three sets in their third round encounter.

Britain's Francesca Jones is scheduled to compete at the event, alongside compatriot Jodie Burrage. Australian star Ajla Tomljanovic will be featured in Sao Paolo, and she will be joined by French prospect Leolia Jeanjean. Below is the full list of entrants.
