Entry List WTA Rome Open (Italian Open) 2025: Sabalenka, Swiatek and Pegula for the glory, Kvitova and Andreescu set for return

The Entry List for the WTA Rome Open (Italian Open 2025) has been unveiled, featuring a 96-player draw on the clay courts. With a prize money commitment of $6.9 million, the tournament will take place from May 6-18, 2025.

This tournament will be the second WTA 1000 event on clay this season, and it will feature major stars such as World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and the defending champion, who both faced off in last year's final, with the Polish player securing a straightforward win 6-2, 6-3.

However, they will not be the only contenders for the title. Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Madison Keys, and Mirra Andreeva are among the prominent stars aiming to make an impact at the event.

The entry list also includes some surprising entries via protected rankings, such as World No. 952 Petra Kvitova, former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, and former World No. 21 Sorana Cirstea.

On the flip side, there are some significant absentees who did not make the cut for the entry list, including Maria Sakkari, Alexandra Eala, and Caroline Garcia, who may look to secure a spot through qualifying rounds.
