Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek starred in the customary Wimbledon champions' dance after both claimed their first titles at the All England Club. Both players, who hadn't been having the best of times, found redemption this weekend on a surface that hadn't been particularly beneficial to them throughout their careers.
Swiatek was crowned champion this Saturday with a historic 6-0, 6-0 victory over American Amanda Anisimova, marking her 6th Grand Slam title. The Pole achieved the "Surface Slam" – winning majors on all surfaces – and put an end to a 13-month title drought.
This Sunday afternoon in the men's final, Sinner delivered a remarkable 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Carlos Alcaraz to reach his 4th Grand Slam title and his first outside of hardcourts. The Italian avenged 5 consecutive losses against Alcaraz – including the Roland Garros final last month – and secured his first title since the Australian Open at the beginning of the season.
Both players had ample reason to celebrate this Sunday at the Champions’ Dinner, the traditional event held at the end of Wimbledon that features the men's and women's singles champions. Precisely Swiatek and Sinner were this week's champions and participated in the gala event, showcasing their respective trophies.
One of the most anticipated moments of the Champions' Dinner is undoubtedly the champions' dance, which has provided epic moments in the past. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal danced with Serena and Venus Williams in the past.
Seven-time champion Novak Djokovic has been another regular protagonist, joining other legends like Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, and Angelique Kerber, while Carlos Alcaraz – champion of the two previous editions – had shown his grace dancing alongside Marketa Vondrousova in 2023 and Barbora Krejcikova in 2024.
This time, Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek were the champions who performed the traditional dance. Below are some images of the moment experienced last night at the All England Club.
