Monfils Could Address Separation From Elina Svitolina

Monfils’ announcement comes after Svitolina publicly addressed the end of their marriage, prompting widespread discussion and criticism on social media. The couple married in July 2021 and have a daughter, Skai.

Monfils subsequently released a statement defending Svitolina against the online backlash, describing some of the criticism as “unkind at best, and venomous at worst.” He also stressed that they would continue to care for and support one another as parents.

His retirement has added another dimension to the public interest surrounding the split. Monfils had been expected to end his career at the Paris Masters in November, but his name appeared on the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s retired list on October 5. His final official match was a second-round defeat to Learner Tien at the US Open.

While Monfils has already shared his thoughts in writing, the upcoming broadcast could give him an opportunity to elaborate. However, the precise subjects he will address during the session have not been confirmed.

When and Where to Watch Gael Monfils’ Live Broadcast

The broadcast is scheduled for Monday, October 26, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Monfils’ personal Twitch channel. Univers Tennis will participate in the session, which is being promoted as a conversation looking back on his career.

The two-hour format is expected to give Monfils time to engage with the audience, although the organizers have not confirmed a detailed list of topics or questions.

With fans seeking clarity on recent developments, the session will offer them an opportunity to hear directly from the Frenchman.
