'He has had a better body than mine,' Rafael Nadal slaps Novak Djokovic with ‘the best in history’ tag as he cheekily admits to the Serb’s superiority

Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal has admitted that Novak Djokovic is the best player in the history of the sport. Nadal, in his latest interview, said that the numbers clearly indicate that the Serbian ace is the best, and he agrees with that. Nadal also praised Djokovic for his fitness.

As the debate over the best player in tennis history boils over, Nadal tried to put the debate to rest as he hailed Djokovic as the best ever. The 22-time Grand Slam champion said that seeing Djokovic get success does not anger him. The Spanish ace also talked Djokovic’s personality.

I think he’s a good person. When I see someone so successful, I don't like getting angry. I would say he is the best in history. He has had a better body than mine and that also counts. Rafael Nadal said to El Objective de La Sexta. (H/T: The Tennis Letter X)

Rafael Nadal feels Novak Djokovic projects the worse side of himself on the court

Nadal also addressed the talks around Novak Djokovic’s personality where he is criticized for emotional outbursts. Nadal said that Djokovic projects the worse side of himself when he is on the court and that he is a good person overall.

The Spaniard also hailed Djokovic for getting back to the starting line after an outburst. Nadal said that it is the best he has ever seen.

The image he projects is worse than he really is; I think he’s a good person. There are moments of frustration. Novak breaks his racquet, but at the next point he is ready to play at 100% again and it is the best I have ever seen. Rafael Nadal said.

Notably, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have shared a great rivalry in their career so far. Although Djokovic leads the Spanish ace in terms of Grand Slam titles won and also in their head-to-head record, Nadal has been among the best players in the history of the sport.

The Spanish ace is struggling to make a good comeback on the tour. Nevertheless, Nadal is expected to play at Indian Wells and it seems, his rivalry with Djokovic will be reignited at the ATP Masters tournament.
