Hopman Cup 2025: Historic mixed event returns features Bianca Andreescu, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jasmine Paolini

The first star names have been confirmed for the Hopman Cup, the mixed-team event between nations that makes its return after a one-year absence. The tournament will feature several high-profile names in the tennis world, including Bianca Andreescu, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Jasmine Paolini.

The event will take place from 16 to 20 July, the week following the conclusion of Wimbledon. Six countries will compete: Canada, Greece, Italy, France, Spain, and Croatia.

The Hopman Cup was originally held annually from 1989 to 2019, with Switzerland winning the last two editions thanks to the pairing of Belinda Bencic and Roger Federer, who defeated Germany’s Angelique Kerber and Alexander Zverev in both finals.

The event was suspended from 2020 to 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the emergence of the United Cup, a high-level mixed-team tournament held in early January with 12 nations competing ahead of the Australian Open.

The Hopman Cup returned in 2023, with Switzerland once again reaching the final—though this time they were defeated by Croatia’s Donna Vekić and Borna Ćorić, who clinched their country’s second Hopman Cup title.

After not being played in 2024, the tournament is back in 2025 with all 12 players now confirmed. The format includes two groups of three nations each, with the winners of both groups advancing to the final. The competition begins 16 July, just three days after the Wimbledon men’s final.
