Iga Swiatek has put together another strong year on the WTA Tour, picking up three more titles, including her sixth Grand Slam.
In July, Swiatek won Wimbledon, becoming the first player from Poland to win a singles title at the All England Club.
She then added her second title of the year in Cincinnati, marking her 11th WTA 1000 trophy.
Swiatek’s form dipped slightly during the Asian swing, likely due to fatigue, but she still came away with a title in Korea and lost only one set during the tournament.
With a few events left on the calendar, Swiatek has posted a 61-15 record for the season and holds her spot as world number two.
Now qualified for the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Swiatek has outlined how she plans to wrap up her 2025 campaign after the year-end competition.
Iga Swiatek took to social media to confirm she will play for Poland in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs this November.
She missed the tournament earlier in the year, where Poland were knocked out during the qualifying rounds in April.
This time around, Swiatek will line up for her country in Gorzow Wielkopolski, where they’ll go up against Romania and New Zealand.
She posted on Instagram: “See you in Gorzów Wielkopolski! I am happy to officially share this news – I will be playing in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs.
It will be a great end to the season – playing for my country and in my country, in front of Polish fans. “In a team that will certainly give its all. I hope to see you there!”
After her campaign at the Miami Open, Iga Swiatek made the decision to sit out of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup for Poland.
It was a difficult time for her. She fell to wildcard Alexandra Eala in straight sets during the quarterfinals.
Speaking on her decision, she said: “I always represent my country with pride. I played everything there was to play for the country last year.
“Now it’s time for more balance, focusing on myself and my training.” Despite missing their top player, Poland did well early on, sweeping Switzerland 3-0 in qualifying but then falling 0-3 to Ukraine. Italy went on to take home the trophy that year by defeating the United States in the final.
