Iga Swiatek won the Miami Open with ease Saturday, beating former No. 1 ranked player Naomi Osaka, 6-4, 6-0, in a match that lasted only 77 minutes.
The win was Swiatek's 17th consecutive victory during a run that included wins in the Indian Wells Masters and Qatar Open finals. Her streak of dominance will also see Swiatek take over the top spot in the WTA rankings when they are updated Monday.

Swiatek, 20, will inherit the top spot from Ashleigh Barty, who reigned as the world's No. 1 player for nearly three years after earning the distinction in June 2019. In March, Barty shocked the tennis world when she announced her retirement at age 25.
In 2020, Swiatek became the first Polish player to ever win a Grand Slam when she beat Sofia Kenin in the final of the French Open. Earlier this year, Swiatek reached the semifinals at the Australian Open but lost to Barty, 6-2, 6-4.
On Saturday, Swiatek joined elite company as Steffi Graf, Kim Clijsters, and Victoria Azarenka are the only other women to win the "Sunshine Double" with titles at both Indian Wells and the Miami Open in the same season.
