No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner canceled his practice session at Wimbledon on Tuesday to await an MRI results on his right elbow.
The top-ranked Italian is scheduled to meet 10th-seeded Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals on Wednesday in London.
Sinner sustained the injury during an early fall in Monday's fourth-round win against 19th-seeded Grigor Dimitrov.
Sinner, 23, dropped the first two sets in that match before Dimitrov retired due to his own injury at 2-2 in the third set.
A three-time Grand Slam winner, Sinner's best showing at the grass-court major was a semifinal effort in 2023.
