Centre Court came alive on Friday when Jannik Sinner completed a commanding performance to topple Novak Djokovic in straight sets, booking his place in the 2025 Wimbledon men's championship.

The Italian world No. 1, who has struggled on grass early in his career, delivered a masterclass that ended 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 in just under two hours.

Not only did the win cement Sinner's spot in the final, the first of his career, but it also made him just the fifth man since 1995 to reach the final at every Grand Slam, joining Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in that exclusive club.

Speaking with reporters after the win, Sinner noted, "Yes, it's some good company. It's amazing. It shows that I'm growing as a player on all surfaces, which for me is even more important ... I struggled a lot five years ago when I started on this surface. I couldn't really move very well. Now I'm moving much better ... And yeah, it's amazing. Thank you."

This evolution underpins a resume in Sinner that already includes three Grand Slam titles (2024 and 2025 Australian Opens, 2024 U.S. Open), the 2024 ATP Finals and 19 career singles titles.

He is also the first Italian man ever to be ranked world No. 1, a position he reached in June 2024 and has since held, remaining atop the ATP rankings for over a year.

Sunday’s showdown against world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will be their 12th meeting, with Alcaraz holding a 7-4 edge in the head‑to‑head.

Their rivalry reached its zenith at Roland Garros on June 8, when Alcaraz recovered from two sets down to win the longest French Open final in history, 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 over five hours and 29 minutes.

Sunday’s final is poised to be a rematch for the ages. Alcaraz, who dispatched Taylor Fritz in four sets earlier on Friday, will seek his third Wimbledon crown and sixth major title overall, while Sinner will lean on his booming confidence that comes with having dismantled Djokovic on Centre Court.
