After a turbulent year both on and off the court, Jannik Sinner is making moves to strengthen his team. Following his defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 US Open final, the Italian dropped to World No. 2 in the ATP Rankings. Now, he has confirmed the addition of veteran physiotherapist Alejandro Resnicoff to his camp. The news was first reported by tennis journalist Diego Jiménez Rubio.
Resnicoff, who brings more than two decades of experience on the ATP Tour, will take on a permanent role with Sinner effective immediately. His first assignment will be the upcoming Asian swing. Jannik Sinner arrived in Beijing on Saturday, greeted by enthusiastic fans with gifts like Wimbledon-themed pillows and plush toys, ahead of the ATP 500 China Open from September 25 to October 1.

The timing of this appointment is significant. The latter half of 2024 and the early months of 2025 were overshadowed by Sinner’s positive tests for Clostebol, which ultimately led to a three-month ban after a protracted legal battle. Since returning to the tour, the 24-year-old has been battling a recurring elbow issue that has hampered his form and consistency.
With Resnicoff joining his team, Sinner will be hoping to regain stability and put physical concerns behind him as he looks to reclaim the World No. 1 spot from Alcaraz. Whether this change proves decisive remains to be seen, but his Shanghai arrival suggests Sinner is determined to make a fresh push in the crucial final stretch of the season.
