Jannik Sinner Teases Brother’s F1 Obsession After Historic Wimbledon Win

Jannik Sinner just carved his name into tennis history books, becoming the first Italian man to win Wimbledon — but it was a playful jab at his brother that stole the show post-match.

After toppling Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling 2025 final on Centre Court, the 23-year-old didn;t just celebrate redemption from his heartbreaking French Open loss. He also couldn’t resist teasing his brother’s love affair with F1.

“There’s no F1 race this weekend, that’s why he’s here,” Sinner quipped with a grin, referencing his brother’s usual absence when F1 is in town. It was classic sibling banter from the champion, who’s long shared how deeply motorsport runs in the family.

The timing certainly worked out. With F1 stars like Sebastian Vettel and George Russell spotted in the Royal Box — fresh off last week’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone — the worlds of tennis and racing collided once again.

Sinner himself is an ambassador for Formula 1, frequently attending races and enjoying special connection with teams like Ferrari.

Fans might recall a similar moment earlier this year during the Italian Open, when Sinner pointed out his brother missing a match thanks to the clash with the Imola GP. Even after his greatest tennis triumph yet, the F1 jokes were alive and well.
