“I think Alcaraz has more arsenal than Sinner. Sinner is more like a robot that just kills the ball and does everything perfect,” the 19-year-old Brazilian said in the post-match press conference.

“Carlos, he can do everything. He can do topspin, fire the ball, has good movement, goes to the net. It’s more difficult to understand the game. He breaks a lot your rhythm.”

Fonseca competed strongly in both matches, but the contrast is clear. Sinner overwhelms with precision, while Alcaraz disrupts with variety and creativity.

Alcaraz recognised the significance of their Friday night meeting for Fonseca, comparing it to his own breakthrough experience against Rafael Nadal in Madrid.

“I remember how I felt when I played Rafa Nadal for the first time in Madrid. These kind of matches will be important for him [Fonseca]. He has everything,” the Spaniard stated, according to journalist Jose Morgado.

That 2021 meeting saw Nadal win comfortably, 6-1, 6-2, but it became a turning point in Alcaraz’s rise.
