Iga Swiatek has been going through a rough patch according to her high standards. For the first time in four years, she failed to lift the French Open title this year, losing to world number one Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 7-6, 4-6, 6-0.
That, however, has not undermined the fact that Swiatek remains one of the most high-profile athletes in women’s tennis. That fact has been endorsed by a list compiled by Forbes Women Poland.
The list highlights the brand value of notable women from the sports world. In that list, Swiatek holds the top spot with a brand value of £ 390 million for winning four French Open and one US Open title. According to a report published by the Daily Express, Swiatek’s net worth is approximately £17.5 million, which is £6.5 million more than that of Emma Raducanu. Swiatek’s earnings stand at around £38 million, with £27 million coming from prize money and £11 million from various business deals.
After losing to Sabalenka in what was her first defeat at the French Open since 2021, Swiatek stated that she was ‘happy’ to play in the competition where she has had a lot of success over the years. She also said that she would take a break before returning to court in Homburg.
“Yeah, I mean I love playing here,” she said back then. “So for sure I’m happy that I was fortunate enough to play so many great tournaments here and even this one, I feel like I played better than weeks before. I’m just happy that I have this place to come back to every year and just try to push myself. I’m gonna have a few days off, but the coaches will plan that. I hope we can have some decent kind of little pre-season on grass, because it’s always been pretty hard to have that, especially because when I wanted to be a little bit home. But I don’t feel like I need to be home right now, so maybe I’ll go somewhere in Europe [to] practice."
