Andy Murray thought Mirra Andreeva would be a great player if she got her eyes fixed. His hilarious response came after the teenager called him “beautiful” and revealed that he was her crush.
Andreeva has dug herself another hole when she was a guest on ‘Love-Ajla’ on Tennis Channel. She was interviewed by Ajla Tomljanovic, during which the latter brought up Murray. Well, Tomljanovic also had a crush on Murray.
Andy was my crush when I was, like, 13 or 14. So when you said that, I was like, Mirra gets it! Mirra understands.

The clip of Andreeva’s interview back in 2023 and Murray’s response went viral, because of which, the Russian had to hide herself whenever she spotted the three-time Grand Slam champion while on the tour.
Well, I did it on camera, and I would never think that he would even listen to one of those interviews, and I would never think that this would go viral because I was like, well, I might just say what I think, and I said and it went viral, and then I tried to keep my distance. When I (saw) him, I would go the other way and wait 10 minutes. I was so shy that everyone heard it. But I feel like he’s aging like fine wine. I look at him now, and I’m like, Oh yeah, he looks good.

When Tomljanovic told her she is keeping up with what Murray is up to, Andreeva agreed before joking, “I just dug myself another hole!” Andreeva’s response once again was noticed by the Scot, who wrote in reply to Tennis Channel’s Instagram post:
I’ve agreed to cover the cost for both ladies to have a check up at their local optometrist post US Open.

The 38-year-old called time on his career at the 2024 Paris Olympics, after which he took up his first coaching job. He was on the team of his former rival, Novak Djokovic, but as the partnership did not bring great results, they split after six months. Murray now works as an associate partner for London-based Redrice Ventures.
Ajla Tomljanovic, a former World No.32, once again failed to make a deep run in a Grand Slam tournament this season. In the Australian Open and French Open, her campaign ended in the second round, while at Wimbledon and the US Open, she suffered an opening-round exit.
At Flushing Meadows, the 32-year-old was on the verge of upsetting World No.3 and 2023 US Open champion Coco Gauff, but eventually lost the match. Tomljanovic produced her best Grand Slam performance when she reached the quarterfinals of the 2021 Wimbledon, and the 2022 Wimbledon and US Open. She has not yet won a tour-level title.
Mirra Andreeva played her career’s first third-round match at the US Open singles. In the third round, Andreeva suffered a straight-set defeat to doubles No.1 Taylor Townsend. Andreeva is a Grand Slam singles semifinalist, reaching the stage at the 2024 French Open.
She also played the revamped mixed doubles with Daniil Medvedev, but their run ended in the quarterfinals. In women’s doubles, Andreeva and Diana Shnaider, also the fifth seeds, are still alive and will face the pair of Shuko Aoyama and Wang Yafan.
This season, twice she made it to the quarterfinals in Majors (at the French Open and Wimbledon). Earlier this season, the 18-year-old grabbed two back-to-back WTA 1000 titles, at the Dubai Open and at Indian Wells (the latter tournament she won by defeating World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka).
