Novak Djokovic secured another victory at Wimbledon, largely without major issues against Italian Flavio Cobolli, winning 6-7(6), 6-2, 7-5, 6-4. The Serb continues to extend his incredible records, reaching the semifinals at SW19 for the 14th time in his career.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion remains on track for another major title, and with an impeccable serve, he'll be full of confidence. He'll face none other than World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, seeking revenge after his loss in the Roland Garros semifinals just a month ago.

It was a more than respectable performance from the Italian World No. 24, who was probably the biggest surprise at this stage of the tournament. The Italian maintained a 63% first-serve percentage and 73% effectiveness throughout the match. Cobolli and Djokovic were even in aces, though Nole outperformed his opponent on both first and second serve points won.

First Set

Djokovic again showcased his class in these situations, successfully countering his opponent's aggression. Cobolli hit 51 winners to Djokovic's 39. In the first set, Djokovic served for the set at 5-3, but Cobolli secured a break to love. The Serb then squandered a set point on return, and the Italian found the momentum to push for the set in the tie-break, taking it 7-6(8-6) after an hour and nine minutes.

Second Set

The difficult part for the Italian would be sustaining his level in a match expected to be long, knowing that Djokovic wouldn't give up. The Serb completely turned things around in the second set. After an even start where Cobolli took a 2-1 lead on his serve, Nole's reaction was swift.

After winning some long rallies, he gained the confidence to dictate the rest of the set. Nole took five consecutive games – totaling 10 consecutive points on his serve and securing two breaks – closing out an easy set 6-2 in less than half an hour, without offering any break opportunities to his opponent and committing only 2 unforced errors.

Third Set

The 24-time Grand Slam champion secured a break at the start of the set and then held his first service game to go up 2-0, making it seven consecutive games won since the previous set. Cobolli still had something to say, responding with three consecutive games in his favor – taking his first break point. Although things remained even for much of the set, Djokovic stepped on the accelerator in the final part, securing the break in the 11th game, which ultimately gave him the tight set 7-5.

Fourth Set

Differences were minimal in the final part, with Djokovic holding onto his serve and, without too much aggression, waiting for his opponent to concede an opportunity. Cobolli, precisely, erred due to his lack of experience at this stage. With the score at 4-4, the Italian was serving to take the lead, but he gave Djokovic a single break opportunity, which the 38-year-old didn't hesitate to take.

Djokovic ultimately closed out the victory on his serve on his third match point, advancing once again to the Wimbledon semifinals and setting up a clash with World No. 1 Jannik Sinner – who recently defeated Ben Shelton. In their last encounter, the French Open semifinals, Sinner secured a comfortable straight-sets victory. This time at SW19, Djokovic will surely feel even more comfortable with the playing conditions and will seek revenge in pursuit of returning to the Wimbledon final for the 7th consecutive time.
