Novak Djokovic has offered a rare, vivid insight into what he describes as the most dominant spell of his career, declaring that no player in tennis history could have beaten him at his peak.

Speaking in an interview reflecting on his finest moments, the 24-time Grand Slam champion pointed to the period between early 2015 and mid-2016 as his personal “utopia” on the court.

“Beginning of 2015 to mid-2016,” Djokovic said without hesitation when asked which phase of his career he would relive. “Those 18 months, we were actually reflecting on that last night with my team.”

During that stretch, Djokovic produced one of the most commanding runs the sport has seen, winning multiple Grand Slam titles, dominating the ATP rankings and overwhelming rivals with relentless consistency and precision.

Describing the feeling, the Serbian star said it went beyond confidence.  “You’re on the clouds. Anything you do turns to gold. Anything you touch,” he said.

Djokovic acknowledged that few athletes experience such sustained dominance. “Not many athletes may have experienced that for so long. So I’m blessed,” he said.

When asked to momentarily set aside the broader debate about the greatest of all time and focus purely on that specific period, Djokovic was unequivocal. Could any other player in history have beaten him at that level?

“No,” he replied. “At that time, no.”

The comments underline just how highly Djokovic rates that era of his career, widely regarded by analysts as one of the most dominant stretches ever seen in men’s tennis — a phase where, by his own account, he felt truly untouchable.
