Novak Djokovic reunited with Andy Murray during the Rafael Nadal tribute with not a dry eye in the house on Court Philippe Chatrier at the 2025 French Open and joked that the former World No.1 ribbed him.

Djokovic split with Andy Murray recently after their dream coaching partnership didn't pay dividends. It was an amicable split with no bad blood and Djokovic immediately won his 100th tournament.

He sealed the title at the Geneva Open last week and he was asked if they cracked any jokes that he went and won a title after they ended their partnership.

“He did… we joked around a bit about his dress code yesterday. I never saw him dress up so well. We joked around and talked about golf and family," said Djokovic in Roland Garros press.

"Also had time to speak to him and Roger in the room.. reflecting about some of the nice memories we had in rivalries and playing Nadal here at Roland Garros, etc… that was quite special, being in the room with them in quite some time. He congratulated me and said ‘Now that you have a proper coach, it’s great, you’re winning tournaments."

He also reflected on the tribute and said that Nadal deserved to have the send-off he was given which saw his footprint immortalised forever on the court.

“It was a beautiful moment. One of the nicest moments I’ve experienced in this court. Walking into the court with Federer and Murray and being there for Nadal. Experiencing all the glory of the celebration of his career.. we’re all happy for him because he absolutely deserved it. I felt like last year’s Roland Garros, he didn’t know whether he was the last one or not. I didn’t feel like he was getting a proper farewell even at the Davis Cup. I think this was a very fitting goodbye for such a legend.”
