It is Quarter-Finals day at the 2025 Queen's Club Championships with our Preview looking ahead to the last eight ties on Friday afternoon. Carlos Alcaraz and two home hopes remain involved.
But who takes a big step towards glory in London and will it be like the WTA tournament and feature a surprise winner or will it stick to the script?
Jacob Fearnley is up first against Jiri Lehecka. The Brit has seen off Corentin Moutet in three sets as well as Alex Bolt so far this week. He did play Brandon Nakashima who is still involved as well in Stuttgart last week losing in three sets.
But compared to last year, he is a bit more of a finished article than last time out where he has played admirably at Wimbledon but like Draper before is yet to make the next step.
He could do just that this week. Facing Lehecka, he dumped out Alex de Minaur early which opened up the draw as well as Gabriel Diallo who won in s'Hertogenbosch last week. So he hasn't had it easy himself. It goes in draw order so we could feasibly have an all British semi-final.
The aforementioned Nakashima though will have an uphill struggle as he faces the British No.1 and second seed in Jack Draper albeit the latter weathered a storm yesterday. After seeing off Jenson Brooksby 6-3, 6-1 in the first round, he struggled past Alexei Popyrin in three sets. He now returns to face Nakashima who saw off Dan Evans and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard over the last two rounds.
Draper has ascended since his shock win over Carlos Alcaraz before at Queen's and ironically could meet him in the final. So a big day for the Brits await.
The other side of the draw sees Carlos Alcaraz back in action who had some issues in his tie against Jaume Munar with his compatriot producing an epic second set salvo.
But he didn't manage to keep it up as Alcaraz edged through. He now faces Arthur Rinderknech, a key tie in Queen's 2023 and again this time. Suddenly shifted to Court 1, Opelka complained afterwards about not playing on the main arena. But he was defeated anyway 7-5, 7-6 by the Frenchman anyway.
But now he will be tasked in trying to topple the Wimbledon champion as well as stopping another tie between childhood friends. Holger Rune came from a set down in his tie against Mackenzie McDonald to win the last two sets 6-1, 6-1.
He now faces Roberto Bautista Agut who continues to roll back the years as he came from a set down to dump out Jakub Mensik. Instead of a clash of the former rising star v the star of the moment, it is the Spanish veteran who continues to act as a spoiler.
But can he stop Alcaraz v Rune? A superb day awaits at Queen's, but who reaches the semi-finals?
