Carlos Alcaraz is living the season every tennis player dreams of. The Spaniard has been a relentless force on tour, particularly since the North American hard-court swing, where he has piled up one dominant win after another.. His latest triumph came in Tokyo, where he swept past Brandon Nakashima 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the Japan Open, extending his run of nine straight semifinal appearances.

With 15 consecutive victories and a level of confidence that seems untouchable, Alcaraz has turned 2025 into a showcase of consistency, dominance, and resilience The numbers tell a story of greatness. Sixty-five wins in 2025, seven titles already in his pocket, and a return to the World No. 1 spot underline just how historic this season has been. Yet for Alcaraz, the journey isn’t about the statistics alone. It’s about building confidence, setting goals, and pushing himself to new heights even as the season winds down.

Speaking after his victory over Nakashima, Alcaraz underlined just how comfortable and confident he feels in this stage of his career. “Probably, this is the best moment of my career. I feel really good on court, and every time I step on the court, I feel I can do anything,” he said. The clarity of his mindset has been reflected in his tennis, with Alcaraz producing match after match of clinical shot-making, aggressive movement, and a champion’s poise. “I’m finishing the season with a lot of confidence, and matches like this, this level, help me a lot to keep that confidence high,” he added.

For Alcaraz, the secret lies in preparation and mentality as much as talent. He explained that keeping focus on clear objectives has been a game-changer for him throughout the season. “I just try to set goals before matches, before tournaments, and I try to accomplish them. I think that helps me a lot to play great tennis and to keep my concentration during matches,” he explained.

A season to remember

Alcaraz’s reflections also revealed just how much pride he takes in maintaining this remarkable level. “I’m really happy with the way I’m doing things, with the way I’m approaching each tournament and each match,” he said. Since the clay-court season, his tennis has arguably reached its peak, showing that he can adapt to surfaces, opponents, and circumstances without losing intensity. “I think since the clay season began I’ve been playing some of my best tennis, if not the best, and I’m really, really happy to equal my best season in terms of wins,” he continued.

Looking at his current trajectory, there is little doubt Alcaraz is on track to finish 2025 as not just the best player in the world statistically, but also the most dominant force in the sport. With important tournaments still to come, he views each opportunity as a chance to push his limits further. “I still have some more very important tournaments ahead, and I’m really looking forward to playing them to see how far I can go,” he remarked. His words reveal a player not content with what he has achieved but eager to write an even greater chapter before the season ends.

His victory against Nakashima in Tokyo was more than just a result. It was a statement. “Today I played a great match. I felt the ball really well, which makes me feel very proud, and I hope to keep going like this,” Alcaraz said.

With Casper Ruud waiting for him in the semifinals of Tokyo, the young Spaniard knows the importance of staying sharp and avoiding the dip in form that has sometimes plagued him at the end of past campaigns.
