Roger Federer, widely regarded as one of the greatest players ever to grace a tennis court, has shown little sign of slowing down since his retirement. The Swiss icon and global ambassador of tennis has been carving out a new path that blends fashion, tourism, and documentary work—all while enjoying more time with his family.
A central piece of Federer’s post-tennis career has been his ongoing collaboration with Switzerland Tourism. The campaigns, known for their playful tone and big-name co-stars, have become global hits. After sharing the screen with Hollywood heavyweights Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in earlier ads, Federer has now teamed up with Halle Berry for the latest installment in 2025.
Away from the cameras, Federer has fully embraced retirement life with his wife, Mirka, and their children. No longer bound by the relentless tour schedule, the family has turned travel into a more relaxed, shared experience.
“Definitely the packing is very different,” Federer reflected in an interview with Conde Nest Traveler. “We do shorter trips as well; it’s not me being on the road for four to six weeks. In my heyday, during the circuit in America, I used to go on the road for almost three months.”
“Today it’s different,” he added. “Actually, with Mirka, we always said, once my career ends, we would love to go back to places that we have been before, but not really spent time in.”
The family has been making good on that promise. Federer revealed that they’ve recently spent extended time traveling through Asia, while also prioritizing Switzerland’s natural beauty with plenty of skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.
“We’ve done a lot of Asia of late, we do loads of skiing in the winter, and in the summer, we do a lot of hiking within Switzerland,” explained Federer. “So, everything is just a lot more laidback now, which is fantastic,” Federer added.
From dominating the world’s tennis courts to starring in globally watched tourism campaigns, Federer continues to carry the effortless grace and charm that made him a household name.
