'She only cares about Sabalenka’: Novak Djokovic’s kids steal the show

Novak Djokovic's children have thoroughly enjoyed this edition of Wimbledon. Stefan, 11, who also plays tennis, has taken advantage of this year's visit to the All England Club to collect autographs from the Tour's top players, independently seeking out the signatures of the big stars.

"It was himself, independently of me, approaching and asking for autographs," the 24-time Grand Slam champion said. "I think I might have asked only Jannik (Sinner) or someone, but everyone else he's approached."

"He's over the moon. Obviously, he loves tennis. Yeah, he has everyone's signature, except mine. But that's ok. I'll accept that."

The 24-time Grand Slam champion's daughter, Tara, 7, stole the spotlight with her celebratory dancing during her father's third-round match against fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic. Nole had shown his unique 'pump it up' celebration, a song he enjoys with his children, and Tara was the star of the television broadcasts – and the entire stadium – with her hilarious dance.

Nole's children – now older – have captured attention this week. Tara has emerged as an outspoken fan of Aryna Sabalenka, and Novak Djokovic himself has commented on his daughter's enthusiasm. "Sabalenka is her favourite. She only cares about Sabalenka," Djokovic said in press conference.

"She keeps asking if she can go to her house again because she has a fridge full of açaí," Djokovic said with a laugh, referring to the popular Brazilian fruit. "We went the other day and she made some açaí for us. Since then, it’s all Tara can think about. She’s not too interested in tennis itself – it’s all about whether she can get some more of that açaí.”

Incidentally, Aryna Sabalenka's partner, Georgios Frangulis, is the founder and owner of Oakberry, a global açaí brand that distributes the product worldwide and has Sabalenka as its main ambassador.

Djokovic doesn't always travel to tournaments with his children, but it's common to see them during some Grand Slams, especially at the European tournaments of Roland Garros and Wimbledon. “It fills my heart with joy when I see them in the stands cheering. A lot of people have noticed and commented on how loud Stefan is – he really has a grown man’s voice, and I can hear him no matter where I am on the court. The support I get from him and Tara means the world to me,” he concluded.
