Team USA Announces Exciting Serena Williams News
Mandatory Credit: Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports

Serena Williams is widely considered the best female tennis player ever, and she has the accolades to back it up. After all, the former world No. 1 is a 23-time Grand Slam winner.

It's also worth mentioning that Williams has four Olympic gold medals on her résumé, having won three in the doubles tournament (2000, 2008 and 2012) and one in the singles competition (2012) at the quadrennial event.

That being said, it's no surprise that Williams was named to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame.

Team USA made the official announcement on Tuesday, even sharing a post on social media to highlight the latest honor for Williams.

"No one else has done it like @serenawilliams: a Golden Slam in both singles and doubles," Team USA wrote.

"The Queen of the Court takes her throne in the #TeamUSAHOF."

Serena Williams joins a long list of equally accomplished Olympians in the class of 2025, such as track and field star Allyson Felix and gymnastics icon Gabby Douglas.

Other inductees include Mike Krzyzewski (basketball), Kerri Walsh Jennings (beach volleyball), Steve Cash (sled hockey), Anita DeFrantz (rowing), Flo Hyman (indoor volleyball), Bode Miller (alpine skiing), Susan Hagel (Para archery, Para track and field and wheelchair basketball) and Marla Runyan (Para track and field).

Nike founder Phil Knight was also named as an inductee as a special contributor, while the 2010 Four-man Bobsled Team and the 2004 Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team made it as well, according to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

Williams and the 2025 Hall of Fame class will be inducted on July 12 in Colorado Springs.
