America’s Jessica Pegula’s comments grabbed a lot of attention in her recent interaction on the social media. A recent episode of the Nothing Major Podcast featured the usual hosts — Sam Querrey, Jack Sock, John Isner, and Steve Johnson — where they talked about what difficulties athletes face while playing in Europe.
Their discussion, however, failed to get the desired attraction, and instead, it was Pegula's comments that gathered all the attractions. The 31-year-old wrote a few things which bothered her while on her trips to Europe. “There is no ice anywhere. If you ask for ice, they give you one ice cube,” wrote Pegula. In response to that, Isner agreed by stating: “Not a single European hotel has ice.” Querry jumped in as well by stating: “Haven’t seen a cup of ice in Europe in 20 years.”
“When they lock the AC and you got to go down and force them to unlock it so it'll go below 75°,” further wrote Pegula. Isner, once again agreed and stated “That or they will auto shut off in the middle of the night”. Pegula was not done as she highlighted two more issues. “The pillows that are not pillows—they are the equivalent of a paper towel,” she wrote. “The room key for electricity (they never give you another key) then if housekeeping comes they take it out so you come back and it’s 80 degrees in the room.”
Those responses from Pegula show how difficult it was, at least for her, when she travels to Europe to take part in different events. The current world number four is going through a bit of a mixed campaign. She won the Charleston Open after beating fellow countrywoman Sofia Kenin in the final. Besides that, she finished as the runner-up at the Adelaide International, where she defeated Madison Keys. She also finished as the runner-up at the Miami Open, where she came second-best after losing to world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the final.
