Felix Auger-Aliassime finished the year strong, breaking into the top five of the ATP rankings for the first time in his career.
His rise was highlighted by a semi-final run at the US Open, a trip to the Paris Masters final, and a title win at the European Open.
The Canadian established himself as one of the main threats to Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner heading into Grand Slam season.
Auger-Aliassime is building momentum going into 2026, and American coach Brad Stine recently offered his thoughts on what to expect from him next year.
Paul, who is currently coaching Tommy Paul, was full of praise for Auger-Aliassime and the way he went about his work last season.
Speaking to The Slice, Stine said: “Even when he was playing at the low point for him, Felix has always been and always will be an extremely dangerous player. He is just such an athlete. His athletic capability is off the charts.
“We talk about that with a lot of guys. He is just a specimen. When you see the guy on TV and you watch him play, even if you are in the stands and you are a little further up, you don’t get the perspective of what a specimen he is.
“He’s a big dude with these squared-off shoulders and he just looks intimidating as an athlete. He does not come across as intimidating a lot of the time because he is such a nice guy.
Stine also believes that his work with Toni Nadal has improved him as a player, and expects him to kick on in 2026.
He added: “You add to that, and I think this was maybe what Uncle Toni did when he spent some time with him; but I think he’s become so much more consistent as well.
Auger-Aliassime played a total of 74 matches in 2025, coming away with 50 wins in what was another strong campaign.
He’s only topped that once before, back in 2022 when he recorded a career-high of 60 victories. Even so, the numbers were good enough to get him into the top five for the first time in his career.
The Canadian’s best ranking before this came in October 2022 when he reached sixth.
This past season also saw him win titles at both the European Open and Open Sud de France, plus runner-up finishes at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament and Paris Masters. His win rate ended up at around 68%, just one percent off his personal best from two years earlier.
