The Laver Cup is set to make a triumphant return to London in 2026, marking the second time the English capital will host the prestigious team tournament. This will be the first time the event, which pits Team Europe against Team World, repeats a host city for its 9th edition.
The tournament, co-founded by Roger Federer, is heading back to The O2 arena, the site of the emotionally charged 2022 edition. That event was famously marked by Federer's retirement and featured the last time Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray all participated. It also saw Team World clinch their first-ever victory.
According to the tournament's official website, The O2 will once again play host from September 25-27, 2026. "We are thrilled to be bringing the Laver Cup back to London, one of the world's great sporting cities," said Laver Cup Chairman Tony Godsick. "London set a new benchmark in 2022, delivering one of the most successful and emotional editions of the event to date."
"While we've traditionally taken the Laver Cup to new cities around the world each year, the response from London – from fans, partners and players – was truly overwhelming. The appetite to see Laver Cup return was impossible to ignore, and we're excited to once again bring this unique tennis event back to The O2," Godsick added.
Roger Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam champion and Laver Cup co-founder, shared his emotional connection to the return to London. "My final match in 2022 was filled with emotion and unforgettable memories – being surrounded by my teammates who were also my greatest rivals – it was everything I could have hoped for," said Federer. "I’m really looking forward to returning to such a meaningful place, this time as a fan, and experiencing the incredible Laver Cup atmosphere once again."
Tim Henman, the new Vice-Captain for Team Europe, who will join Yannick Noah in leading the squad, expressed his delight that the tournament will be held in his home country again. "British fans are passionate about tennis and the atmosphere at The O2 in 2022 was electric," said the former British No. 1.
"I’m really looking forward to being part of the Laver Cup for the first time this year in San Francisco and even more excited to see it return to London in 2026. It’s a city that lives and breathes sport, and I know the fans will make it another unforgettable occasion," Henman concluded.
This year's Laver Cup is scheduled to take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, with Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev, and Joao Fonseca among the confirmed stars.
