Alexander Bublik locked horns with Jack Draper during his semifinal showdown against the British pro at the 2024 Adelaide International on Sunday, January 12.

Despite asserting his on-court dominance during his hardcourt campaign, the Kazakhstani suffered a straight loss with a concluding scoreline of 7-6(2), 6-4.

However, during the second set of his encounter against the Briton, Bublik amused the jam-packed stadium after returning the latter’s drop-shot with his racket’s bu*thead, a notable shot that is now being deemed his signature shot.

Bublik’s season has started strong in comparison to his performance in the 2023 season. Last year, the Kazakhstani lost all four of his appearances before the 2023 Australian Open, which included his fallout at the United Cup and the ASB Classic.

Kazakhstani tennis professional Alexander Bublik recently talked about raising his son Vasily away from the spotlight in an interview with Championat.

The 26-year-old further asserted that he isn’t the biggest fan of media attention. 

I wouldn’t want my child to become a ‘headliner.’ Or so that photographs of the child can be found in every public page in the world. I believe that personal life should be personal, at least for me. Spoke Bublik via Championat.
