Carlos Alcaraz secured a dominant straight-sets win over Cameron Norrie on Tuesday, booking his place in the Wimbledon semi-finals for the third year in a row. With his 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory, the 22-year-old continued his strong title defense at SW19. Norrie’s loss also marked the end of British hopes in both the men’s and women’s singles draws this year.
During his on-court interview, Alcaraz was asked how he planned to relax before his next match. Just as he began to answer, a cheeky fan shouted “Ibiza!” from the crowd. The moment drew laughter from both the audience and Alcaraz himself, but he quickly dismissed the idea of partying, saying there was “no time” and that he’d probably just play golf instead:
No time [Laughs]… for sure I’m gonna play some golf.
Alcaraz’s win puts him among elite company, as he becomes the third-youngest man in the Open Era to reach three consecutive Wimbledon semi-finals. Only Rafael Nadal and Bjorn Borg achieved the milestone at a younger age. His next opponent will be fifth seed Taylor Fritz, whom Alcaraz has never lost to in previous meetings.

The two will face off on Thursday, giving the Spaniard a full day to rest. While Ibiza may be off-limits for now, Alcaraz has made post-tournament trips there in the past. He visited after losing to Djokovic in the 2023 French Open semifinals and again following his epic win over Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros this year. A return trip might await once his Wimbledon campaign concludes.
World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz took another step toward defending his Wimbledon title with a commanding win over Cameron Norrie on Tuesday. The Spanish star delivered a confident performance to defeat the British No. 1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-3, and secure a place in the semi-finals once again.
Ranked No. 2 in the world, Alcaraz showed great control throughout the match, saving all five break points he faced. The victory, which lasted just under one hour and 40 minutes, marked his 23rd consecutive win at tour level. He is now one of only two active players to reach at least three Wimbledon semi-finals, joining Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz’s next test will come in the form of American fifth seed Taylor Fritz. The two have faced off twice before, with Alcaraz holding a perfect 2-0 record in their head-to-head meetings. The semi-final promises to be an exciting clash as both players head in with strong form.
If Alcaraz wins Wimbledon again this year, he will achieve a rare feat. He would join Bjorn Borg as the only men in the Open Era to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in back-to-back seasons. With each round, the 22-year-old moves closer to writing another chapter in tennis history.
Cameron Norrie returned to the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the second time, hoping to grind down Carlos Alcaraz from the baseline. However, the Spaniard mixed things up with sharp tactics and frequently moved forward to the net, surprising Norrie with his aggression.
Alcaraz was especially effective with his serve-and-volley game. He approached the net at the right moments and won 14 of 16 points when using that strategy. His ability to shift pace and change positioning kept Norrie on the back foot.
The 22-year-old was solid in every part of his game, but his first serve stood out as a major weapon. He consistently hit his targets and gave Norrie little chance to respond. His service games were smooth and confident throughout the match.
Alcaraz won 89 percent of points on his first serve, landing 50 of 56, and added 12 aces to his tally. His powerful and precise serving helped him maintain control and close out points quickly.
