Carlos Alcaraz had a fun interaction with Diego Schwartzman and Federico Coria during a stream hosted by the Argentine tennis player. World No. 143 Coria, also known as 'La Mojarra' on his YouTube channel, sent Alcaraz a WhatsApp message mid-broadcast, and the Spaniard had a hilarious response.
Alcaraz is clearly in high spirits after clinching the Roland Garros title last Sunday. The Spaniard saved three match points and overcame world No. 1 Jannik Sinner to successfully defend his French Open trophy and secure his fifth Grand Slam title.
The 33-year-old Argentine tennis player balances his professional career with a YouTube channel where he vlogs behind-the-scenes content from the Tour. He also has a strong presence on social media, where he streams video games or reacts to tennis matches.
Coria's guest was former world No. 8 Diego Schwartzman, who has been enjoying his retirement since the beginning of the year. They teamed up to play a tennis video game. While choosing their characters, Alcaraz's name was one of the options, which prompted them to send him a voice message via WhatsApp.
"Charly, we're going to kick your ass with 'Peque,' we're going to kick your ass with 'Peque'," joked Federico Coria – younger brother of former world No. 3 Guillermo Coria.
Minutes later, Alcaraz's response came. He took his colleague's message with humor and sent them a greeting. "A big shout-out to 'Peque,' to 'Mojarra,' to the great Federico, enjoy yourselves and don't do anything against my character, come on, he's always the best, 'SIUU'. A greeting from Carlitos Alcaraz. Let's go!"
The response was immediate, and this time it was Schwartzman who took the mic. "The people are on their feet here, Charly, the people are on their feet," 'Peque' said while Coria applauded.
"Charly, Charly, Charly!" the South American tennis players shout together.
