After 20 years, the tennis world witnesses Novak Djokovic without a coach. The Serbian had recently split up with his Croatian coach, Goran Ivanisevic. It was an unexpected decision by the Serbian, who had played some of his best tennis under Ivanisevic. 

He also had former doubles World No.1 Nenad Zimonjic with him at Monte Carlo and is even considering continuing with him in the future. Another decision that Djokovic is pondering is the one to go coach-less. In a recent interview, he expressed his thoughts about not having a coach. 

It’s not like I think I don’t need a coach at all. I think there’s always value in having that quality team... But I think I’m in the stage of my career where I can afford to. maybe think having no coach is also an option. Said Novak Djokovic. 

The Serbian has decided to skip the Madrid Open to prepare well for the upcoming French Open, Wimbledon, and ultimately the Paris Olympics. With a huge year ahead, Djokovic has prepared a schedule to be fully fit for the important tournaments.
