Fans of British tennis star Emma Raducanu could be in for another rollercoaster ride as the former World No.10 hinted at working with another coach following her third round loss at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.

The 2021 US Open champion put on a solid showing at SW19, defeating former champion Marketa Vondrousova in straight sets in the second round. However, Raducanu's campaign came to an end at the hands of World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, who overpowered the Brit in a straight set victory during their third round encounter.

Coaching carousel likely to resume for Raducanu

Known for cycling through coaches in a short period of time, Raducanu has worked with over five coaches in just four years on the WTA Tour. Following her remarkable run to the 2021 US Open title, Raducanu split with then-coach Andrew Richardson immediately after the tournament. The 22-year old has since worked with Torben Beltz, Dimitry Tursunov, Sebastian Sachs, Nick Cavaday and Vladimir Platenik.

Raducanu began working with current coach Mark Petchey in April 2025, with the LTA coach suspending his commentating duties to assist the British star. It was never confirmed to be a long-term appointment, and Raducanu addressed the issue following her loss to Sabalenka.

"He obviously has his commentating commitments," said Raducanu. "He agreed to kind of help me until the end of Wimbledon and then we kind of see from there because he gave up some work to work with me here, which I really appreciate and I’m grateful for. That’s a conversation that we need to have after a few days and the dust settles a little bit."

Although the British star has not reached a WTA final under Petchey's tutelage, she has openly admitted to enjoying working with him. However, the LTA coach, who trained three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray during his youth, has hinted at his desire to remain close to his family as opposed to traveling to North America for several weeks during the North American hard court swing.
