Wimbledon Sends Personal Message to Novak Djokovic Amid Retirement Rumors

The tennis world was abuzz with retirement speculation for Novak Djokovic following his straight‑sets loss to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon semifinals.

At 38, Djokovic conceded that “reality hits me right now, last year and a half, like never before,” acknowledging that the wear and tear on his body makes it increasingly difficult to compete at his peak.

His exit marked the first time since 2017 that he failed to reach the final at the All England Club, intensifying questions about whether he might hang up his racket on Centre Court.

Yet Djokovic swiftly quelled any notions of an immediate farewell. In post‑match remarks to reporters, he made clear his intention to return. “I’m not planning to finish my Wimbledon career today. I’m planning to come back definitely — at least one more time, play on Centre Court for sure,” he said.

When asked, “Would you be sad if that was your last match on Centre Court, to go off like that?”, Djokovic replied, “I would be sad, but hopefully it’s not my last match on Centre Court. I’m not planning to finish my Wimbledon career”.
