Carlos Alcaraz is back in the Wimbledon final after defeating Taylor Fritz in the semifinals 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6). The Spaniard will seek his third consecutive title at the All England Club this Sunday, while extending his winning streak to 24 consecutive victories.

The World No. 2 remains unbeaten at SW19 and is just one win away from a Wimbledon triple crown and his sixth Grand Slam title. He is still waiting to find out his opponent between Novak Djokovic—whom he defeated in the 2023 and 2024 finals—or Jannik Sinner—his classic rival whom he defeated in the Roland Garros final a month ago.

First Set

At the start of the match, Alcaraz decided to begin on return and made it count, taking advantage of the warm-up to secure an early break. The Spaniard saved a break point in the next game to go up 2-0 and start the match in the best possible way. Both players stabilized on serve, though Alcaraz was more incisive from the return.

The five-time Grand Slam champion squandered some break points throughout the set but ultimately closed it out on his serve 6-4, after winning up to 10 consecutive points on his serve, also being more aggressive than his opponent with 12 winners against Fritz's 9.

Second Set

In the second set, Fritz looked more confident on serve, despite a significant dip in his first-serve percentage. However, he never faced too much trouble when it was his turn to serve. At 4-3 in favor of the American, the first break point was played, but Alcaraz emerged unscathed.

Fritz managed to take the lead on his serve up to 6-5. At this moment, a couple of unforced errors and a double fault put Alcaraz down 0-40, facing three set points for his opponent. The tension clearly affected "Carlitos," who ultimately gifted the set with a forehand error, losing it 7-5. Fritz only had a 48% first-serve percentage, but it mattered little, as he won 83% of his service points.

Third Set

Despite Alcaraz's evident frustration during the changeover, he returned completely renewed. Fritz defended his first service game, but then "Carlitos" went on a remarkable streak of points—totaling up to 13 consecutive—to secure the break and take a 3-1 lead.

As throughout the tournament, Alcaraz had no trouble holding his serve and didn't let the pressure get to him. With the score at 5-3, he capitalized on the tension of the moment and secured a second break of the set, which ultimately gave him the 6-3 advantage and sent the match to a fourth set in pursuit of victory. Alcaraz had been almost perfect in the set, conceding just one service point (94% effectiveness).

Fourth Set

The outcome of the match seemed to start tilting in Alcaraz's favor, as he had the momentum. On his serve, he stayed ahead, and at 3-2, he created a first break point in his favor, which Fritz, however, managed to save to stay in contention and level at 3-3.

Everything was ultimately decided in the tie-break, where Alcaraz secured an early mini-break and a lead of up to 4-1, but Fritz responded, showing he intended to stay in the fight. The American consecutively won the next 5 points – including two mini-breaks – and had two set points in his favor – one of them on his serve. However, Alcaraz completed a comeback to give epic flair to the match's close, ultimately securing the victory 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6).
