Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Aerith romance gives you plenty of chances to help Cloud grow closer with Midgar's most mysterious flower girl - if you know where to find them. Like other Rebirth romances, your relationship with Aerith changes at key points, during side quests, and in specific conversations you have to go out of your way to find.

Our FF7 Rebirth Aerith romance guide goes over how to raise Cloud’s relationship with Aerith, all the side quests featuring Aerith, and the best dialogue choices.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: How to romance Aerith

Aerith likes helping people out, so you should too.Square Enix/GLHF

Rebirth’s Aerith romance works similarly to others in the RPG, including the Tifa romance. Picking the right dialogue choices during key story moments, completing side quests with Aerith, and using her synergy abilities with Cloud in battle go a long way toward deepening Cloud’s relationship with her.

However, there’s a small handful of other ways to affect it as well, including matching Aerith’s swimsuit with Cloud’s at Costa Del Sol, choosing kind and considerate dialogue options during side quests, and keeping Aerith in your party as often as possible.

You’ll also want to:

  • Team up with Aerith and Barret during the Costa Del Sol fight against Shinra soldiers
  • Choose Aerith for the Loveless experience
  • Find all the soldiers in Junon and get the maximum amount of points
    • This action will boost Cloud’s relationship with everyone in the party

Pressing the “L1” button outside of combat displays a little smiley face icon above your party members’ heads that represents how close you are with them.

All FF7 Rebirth Aerith dialogue choices

Be nice to Aerith.Square Enix/GLHF

After most major story moments, Cloud can have a conversation with every party member, including Aerith. During these, you need to make at least one dialogue choice that will affect the two’s relationship.

Aerith Kalm dialogue choice

Aerith is waiting for you outside the bookstore, and since you have to visit the store, this conversation’s pretty much unmissable.

  • Wanna climb the clock tower together?
  • Pick “Sure, let’s”

Aerith Junon dialogue choice

After everyone retires to the in following the Terror of the Deep boss fight, speak with Aerith in her room. Rebirth does a little fake-out here with a scripted cutscene that suggests Aerith has nothing else to say. After Red leaves her room, go inside and speak with her.

  • Do you remember the first time we met?
  • Pick “You shoved a flower in my face”
    • Some players reported a relationship change if you choose “The church, right?” but the flower option is what did it for me.

Aerith Costa Del Sol dialogue choice

Find Aerith on the beach in Costa Del Sol after the Gastropod battle.

  • I start thinking things so dark and ugly that it scares me
  • Pick “They’re just thoughts”

Aerith Gongaga dialogue choice

Speak with Aerith after you visit Zack’s house and speak with his parents.

  • Pretty selfish, huh? Waltzing in there, stirring up memories
  • Pick “They didn’t seem to mind”

Aerith Cosmo Canyon dialogue choice

Aerith is debating whether to make a speech after a cutscene.

  • What will you do?
  • Pick “Encourage her”

Aerith Nibelheim dialogue choice

Go to the water tower in the center of Nibelheim for a scene with Aerith.

  • You never came up here hopin’ she’d wave?
  • Pick “Sounds like something I’d do”

FF7 Rebirth Aerith side quests

Aerith's side quests explore more of her background as well, so it's a win-winSquare Enix/GLHF

Aerith has side quests sprinkled throughout the game, with two near the end in Chapter 12, before the final Gold Saucer date.

  • Chapter 2 (Grasslands) – Flowers from the Hill
    • Speak with Chloe after unlocking your first chocobo
  • Chapter 4 (Junon) – Stuck in a Rut
    • Speak with Gabe near the Remnawave tower just outside Junon. You have to do this to unlock the region’s chocobo anyway.
  • Chapter 7 (Costa Del Sol) – Rendezvous in Costa Del Sol
    • Available after you begin Chapter 7
  • Chapter 9 (Gongaga) – The Spice of Life
    • Complete the “Teach Me, Great Warrior” quest, which becomes available after you clear the Gongaga reactor
  • Chapter 10 (Cosmo Canyon) – Absence of a Sign
    • Start from the Cosmo Canyon message board after completing Uninvited Guests
  • Chapter 12 (Junon) – Beneath Still Waters
    • Must complete main quest “Tides of War and Worry” side quest. You can get both from the Under Junon message board.
  • Chapter 12 (Gongaga) – Woodland Vigil
    • Unlocks after you complete Spice of Life and Escape from Writer’s Block

Participating in, and winning, the Gold Saucer coliseum challenges in the Sand and Circuses quest will also give your relationship with Aerith – and the rest of the party – a slight bump.

FF7 Rebirth Aerith swimsuit

When you purchase Cloud’s swimsuit in Costa Del Sol and change into it for the first time, you can also change Aerith’s and Tifa’s outfits. You get a relationship boost if you pick suits for them that match Cloud’s.

  • If you pick Cloud’s Wild Surf suit, Aerith should get her Pink Mermaid outfit
  • If Cloud dons Ocean Chocobo, give Aerith the Floral Delight suit

FF7 Rebirth Aerith Gold Saucer dates

Prioritize your relationship with Aerith over other party members to ensure she's your date partner in Chapter 12Square Enix

Rebirth has two Gold Saucer dates, one in Chapter 8 and the big one in Chapter 12. The first date happens in Chapter 8 when you first visit the Saucer. If Cloud’s relationship with Aerith is stronger than his bond with other party members, they’ll spend the evening in the park together at night.

The Chapter 12 date is the one with a bit of romance attached, depending on how things play out. If Aerith’s bond with Cloud is stronger than Cloud’s relationships with other party members, she’ll show up when you rest at the hotel for the evening, after finding Dio. You’ll either get an intimate scene on the Ferris wheel or a “normal” date.

Bears GM speaks out after superstar goes down with injury

Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson is expected to miss most of training camp due to a leg injury, per ESPN’s Courtney Cronin. Johnson was placed on the non-football injury list when veterans reported to Chicago for camp. He suffered the injury during offseason training, according to Bears general manager Ryan Poles. Johnson is coming off his second consecutive Pro Bowl and is headed into the second year of a four-year, $76M deal. He has dealt with a number of injuries over his career, playing no more than 15 games in a season over the first four years of his career. In 2024, he played a full season for the first time, starting all 17 games with a career-high 1,032 snaps. An extended absence into the regular season would force Chicago to find another starting cornerback among their veteran depth, but Poles said that the team is not “overly concerned” about a long-term injury. “We’ve got a lot of faith that he’s going to put in the time to rehab and be his full self when he comes back,” said Poles on Tuesday. 2023 fifth-rounder Terell Smith will likely step into a first-team role in Johnson’s absence. Chicago largely relied on a cornerback trio of Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson and Kyler Gordon last year; Smith is the only remaining defensive back on the roster who played at least 150 snaps on the boundary for the Bears in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus. Offseason signings Nick McCloud and Tre Flowers may also see a bump in reps over the coming weeks as Johnson rehabs his leg with his eyes on returning for the Bears’ Week 1 opener against the Vikings.

Can LeBron James Be Traded to the Dallas Mavericks?

This year’s NBA offseason could see a lightning strike in the near future. The Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus has suggested a new, three-team trade between the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets that would send LeBron James, alongside his son Bronny James, to Dallas in a dramatic, yet significant deal to reshape all three teams’ futures. Here’s why. LeBron James to the Dallas Mavericks LeBron James opted into his $52.6 million player option for the 2025-26 NBA season. However, James’ decision was met with skepticism by several NBA executives. Some NBA insiders expected James, 40, to opt out and sign a one-plus-one deal. The decision drove chatter of possible discontent and a potential end to his Lakers run. James holds one of the NBA’s rare no-trade clauses. Therefore, James can decide where he would land. Multiple NBA insiders have said that the Dallas Mavericks are high on James’ list. Joining the Mavericks would allow James to reunite with Kyrie Irving, join forces with Anthony Davis again, and play under Jason Kidd, who served as an assistant coach during the Lakers’ 2020 NBA championship run. James, Mavericks Outlook LeBron James is 40 years old and will turn 41 on December 30, 2025. However, James is still playing like a top-tier NBA player. If the Dallas Mavericks acquire James, the Mavericks could receive star power, shot creation, and veteran leadership. A Mavericks goal appears to be winning while the team’s NBA championship window is still open. The Mavericks would receive LeBron James (via Lakers), Bronny James (via Lakers), Drew Timme (via Nets), Tyrese Martin (via Nets), a $1.8 million trade exception, and a $1.1 million trade exception. The Mavericks could benefit from a solid core of James, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Cooper Flagg and Dereck Lively II. The Lakers would receive Daniel Gafford (via Mavericks), PJ Washington (via Mavericks), Naji Marshall (via Mavericks), Caleb Martin (via Mavericks), Jaden Hardy (via Mavericks), a 2030 Los Angeles Lakers second-round pick (via Nets), a 2031 Los Angeles Lakers second-round pick (via Nets) and a $24.1 million trade exception. The Lakers could start the Luka Doncic era. The Brooklyn Nets would receive Dalton Knecht (via Lakers), Maxi Kleber (via Lakers), Olivier-Maxence Prosper (via Mavericks) and Dwight Powell (via Mavericks). The Nets would serve as a facilitator, as the team would acquire assets while helping two contenders shift money around, and perhaps cash considerations. Final Thoughts It’s highly unlikely that LeBron James will be traded to the Dallas Mavericks. However, nothing can be ruled out. The NBA world saw the Luka Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers this past February, and if they’re old enough to remember, the Jason Kidd trade to the Phoenix Suns in December 1996. If and when James is traded to Dallas, James’ presence can help the Mavericks succeed. James can help improve team chemistry, instill confidence in the team, and build a winning culture. James can play multiple positions as a forward, but a huge concern would be James’ declining gameplay and shooting stats.

All signs point to Yankees moving on from Anthony Volpe

All signs point to Yankees moving on from Anthony Volpe

With the trade for Ryan McMahon now complete, it would seem New York Yankees’ general manager Brian Cashman has fulfilled one of his three priorities. He can now cross third base off the list, which leaves the rotation and bullpen as his remaining priorities. However, according to one Yankees writer, Cashman might not be done with the infield. Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reported this after the McMahon trade: “The Yankees may not be done adding to their infield. A team source said the Yankees are interested in adding a right-handed hitter who could play the infield.” Kirschner adds that the Yankees have had interest in Willi Castro and Amed Rosario. But the question now is, how would another player fit into the Yankees’ infield? Needless to say, Paul Goldschmidt and Jazz Chisholm Jr. aren’t going anywhere, and McMahon is just getting there. That leaves the low-hanging fruit. Anthony Volpe has been at the center of controversy all this season. His 13 errors, many of which had come at make-or-break moments, amount to the second-highest total in the game. In addition, his bat has not been able to compensate, hitting .217/.288/.408 with 14 home runs. There was always a lot to like about Volpe. He won a Gold Glove in his rookie year, his power has always been promising and his speed is nothing to scoff at. Unfortunately, his glove has become a liability, and his speed has also produced very few results. Volpe has swiped just 10 bags in 17 attempts. His power is the one thing that still has some upside, but it hasn’t been enough to justify a spot in the lineup. Both Castro and Rosario have been far more productive at the plate this season than Volpe. Kirschner doesn’t clarify how serious the Yankees are in their pursuit of another infielder, but that most likely isn’t available information. Having just turned 24, Volpe could still become the type of player that was expected from him as a top prospect. However, his recent performance has weighed heavily on his team’s efforts, and it may be buying him a ticket out of the Bronx — or at least a spot on the bench.

49ers' Brock Purdy Receives Major George Kittle Update

San Francisco 49ers quarterback and former Iowa State star Brock Purdy is gaining more chemistry with his tight end, George Kittle. This offseason, Purdy bought a house in Nashville, Tennessee, making it easier to get to Kittle's compound for extra training. “With Brock down there, it’s really fun,” Kittle said. “They give us a list of routes that they want us to focus on, and for us to be able to run 20, 30, 40 routes, two to three days a week, that helps me. So when we get back and we show up here, it’s not like we are running routes for the first time and have that rust.” Kittle is coming off a great 2024 season, where he hauled in 78 receptions for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns. “Obviously, got some work with Kittle, Mason Pline,” Purdy said. “Obviously at George’s place it’s just a bunch of tight ends and everything, but really good work that we got, so I was excited about that.” Kittle has been Purdy's top target since he became the starting quarterback. In the 2024 season, Purdy completed 65.9 percent of his passes for 3,864 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Purdy has been an efficient passer since his time with the Cyclones. In his senior season with Iowa State, Purdy completed 71.7 percent of his passes for 3,188 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. With the extra offseason work, Purdy and Kittle have strengthened their connection, and they should have a great 2025 season. Read More Iowa State Cyclones Coverage
