Battlefield 6 Players Have a lot to Say About the Map Sizes in this New Installment and It’s Not Good

Battlefield 6 has seen a wildly successful launch, with mostly positive reviews of the game. However, there’s been some slight ire at one of the biggest promises the devs made for this installment. One of the most defining factors of the Battlefield series is its expansive maps, and the devs of Battlefield 6 promised bigger and better. So, what’s the problem? Here are all the details on this hot issue.

Battlefield 6 Map Sizes Don’t Deliver

Right now, there are 9 maps available in Battlefield 6’s online matchmaking. These maps consist of:

  • Siege of Cairo
  • New Sobek City
  • Iberian Offensive
  • Saints Quarter
  • Empire State
  • Manhattan Bridge
  • Liberation Peak
  • Mirak Valley
  • Operation Firestorm

Each map is pretty unique in look, size, and scope, and is meant to be pretty substantial in size, especially compared to previous Battlefield games. However, a group of players shares the same sentiment that the maps are not as big as the devs claimed or promised. Players say that the maps are missing the grandeur of the usual Battlefield maps and favor close-quarter combat rather than accommodating vehicles, which was also a big selling point of the game. Here’s what players have said they feel about the new maps available right now.

Player’s Response

According to some players, the dissatisfaction with the maps of Battlefield 6 has turned them off from the game. Here are some of the comments players have made on the topic:

“There is no flow, zero breathing room since the maps are so compact. Everyone is constantly on top of each other. Every map is drowned in campy sniping positions. unpredictable AF, it’s just chaos in the worst way,”

“While the maps are fun overall, they don’t capture that classic feeling of battlefield, even Mirak Valley, which was the map I was most excited about. The map borders are squeezed in so tight for no reason,”

“Liberation Peak and Mirak Valley are so damn similar they feel like one map cut in half. I’m not saying all of them are bad or something but it really really feels like five maps, not nine.”

A lot of players have felt the devs misled players in believing the maps would be bigger and crazier than ever. Though the game has been massively successful within the few days it’s been released, it seems some issues have been presented to EA from some frustrated players, and only time will tell if these issues will be addressed in the coming weeks or in an upcoming update for the game.
