Ready to leave your friends in the dust and hit max level in Borderlands 4 before they even figure out their skill trees? Of course you are. Grinding XP can feel like a total slog, but trust me, it doesn’t have to be. Forget wandering around aimlessly and shooting low-level skags for pocket change XP. I’ve been in the trenches, testing every method out there to find the absolute fastest ways to level up, and I’m here to spill the tea.

Whether you’re a lone wolf tearing through Kairos or running with a squad, I’ve got the strats that will get you to the endgame faster than a Skag licks its own… well, you get the picture. Let’s dive into the best XP farms that will have you swimming in skill points and legendary loot in no time.

Look, leveling up is your ticket to the good stuff. More skills, beefier stats, and access to the god-tier loot that makes you feel like an absolute legend. The grind is real, but if you know where to go and what to do, you can cut that time down significantly. The absolute best way to farm XP right now revolves around Vile Bounties, but first, you’ve got some prep work to do.

Unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode for the Best XP

Before you can even think about serious power-leveling, you need to beat the main campaign. Yeah, yeah, I know, the story is great, but we’re here for the grind. Once you’ve seen those credits roll, you’ll unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter (UVH) mode.

At UVH Rank 1, you get a sweet +10% XP boost, not to mention better loot rarity and more cash. Sure, the enemies are tougher, but the rewards are totally worth it. The game will walk you through a few activities to get you started, and then you’re free to unleash mayhem.

The Best Solo XP Farm to Level Up

Alright, lone wolves, this one’s for you. The most efficient solo method is a simple, repeatable loop in Carcadia Burn.

First, fast travel to the Makeshift Chalet Safehouse. This spot is pure gold because the bounty board is literally right there. No more trekking across the map just to pick up a mission.

Once you’re at the board, look for these specific bounties:

  • Vile Bounties (Purple): These are your golden ticket. They spawn a gnarly, crystal-covered elite enemy that drops a treasure trove of loot and a massive chunk of XP.
  • “Kill” Bounties (Blue): If you don’t see any purple, grab these. They’re still great for quick kills and decent XP.

Seriously, skip the collection or patrol bounties. They’re a time-suck, and the XP payout is just sad.

Once you’ve accepted a Vile Bounty, hunt down your target. These baddies have crystal weak points. Pop those crystals to shred their shields, then go to town. After they’re space dust, grab your loot and fast travel back to the safehouse.

Here’s the magic trick: save and quit to the main menu. When you reload, the bounty board will be fresh with new contracts. Rinse and repeat, and watch those levels fly by. You can easily rake in up to 300,000 XP per hour with this method.

The Fastest Co-op Method to Level Up

Got friends? Good. This method is ridiculously fast. The strategy is to split up and conquer the Ripper Drill Sites on Kairos. These are basically wave-based arenas packed with enemies, ending in a boss fight.

Here’s the plan:

  1. Have your squad spread out to different Drill Sites, like the Pitted Stain and Prospects Drill Sites.
  2. Everyone starts their event at the same time.
  3. Since kill XP is shared across the party, you’ll all be raking in experience from multiple locations at once. It’s glorious, beautiful chaos.

After you clear a site, there’s an Encore machine nearby to instantly restart the event. No downtime, just non-stop action and a river of XP flowing straight to your entire squad.

Best Gear for Fast Leveling

To make these farms even faster, your loadout matters. You want gear that can handle crowds and melt elites.

  • Splash Damage is King: Torgue weapons, rocket launchers, anything that goes BOOM. Vile enemies have multiple crystal weak points, and splash damage lets you shatter them all at once.
  • Crowd Control: Cryo builds, like the Amon’s Forgeknight class, are fantastic for freezing enemies and making those Vile Crystals easy targets.

Basically, bring your biggest, baddest guns. The faster you kill, the faster you level. It’s simple math, Vault Hunter.

Now get out there and start farming! The endgame awaits, and with these strategies, you’ll be there in a flash.
