The recent Destiny 2 TWID divulged information about the raid space in the game. The predominant focus was on the Epic Raid for the Desert Perpetual. The Epic Raid is set for September 20, 11 days after the release of the Ash and Iron Update. The Epic Raid will have a Contest Mode and competition for World’s First, but some of the notes have angered the Destiny 2 community.
The Desert Perpetual Epic Raid Contest Mode will be active for 48 hours, as with the previous raid race. Players clearing each encounter for the first time on Contest Mode will be awarded tier 5 loot. Completing the raid rewards players with an exclusive emblem, the raid Exotic, and its catalyst. CBGray and EvanF are back in the Bungie Studios to bring RaidZone for the race.
The two significant differences between the Epic Raid Race and the initial race are the addition of Not Swap, Featured Gear, and Seasonal Mods. Not Swap itself is receiving updates. It is becoming more punishing on players who swap Exotic or Legendary Armor or weapon ammo types. If players do, you will lose all Super and ability energy, Special Ammo, Heavy ammo, and all ammo and orbs on the ground will disappear. Not Swap will be active in the Contest mode when you have at least three feats active on the Epic raid standard difficulty. The change has caused an uproar in the community, with many wondering why they made the modifier worse when they already disliked it.
Bungie is increasing rewards from the Desert Perpetual Raid with the Ash and Iron update in Destiny 2.
