Bungie released the Weapon Tuning Preview for the Destiny 2 Renegades expansion. There are numerous changes, including meta-defining updates. We have multiple articles on the preview, with each focusing on a specific section of the sandbox. In this article, we will look at the changes coming to Destiny 2 Exotic Weapons in Renegades. An old favorite may shine in the limelight once more, while Hunters can rejoice.
All information is per the Destiny 2 Weapon Tuning Article released by Bungie yesterday.
Ace of Spades
Increased PvE Damage Bonus of Memento Mori. Increased damage and effectiveness of Ace of Spades’ Firefly.
Hawkmoon
Each Parcausal Charge grants bonus damage per stack. The damage increase does not apply to the final Paracausal Shot.
Osteo Striga
The cooldown of the poison burst from final blows is reduced.
Suros Regime
Suros Regime is getting some quality of life updates that should increase its viability.
Revision Zero
Hunter’s Race Rounds will now create a damaging shockwave and Exhaust enemies.
Touch of Malice
The intrinsic perk grants more healing, and fewer kills are needed to trigger the healing in PvE. Charged with Blight will fire the healing impulse.
Collective Obiligation
Collective Obiligation will now leech Void debuffs against any target. The leech is reduced against non-debuffed targets.
Symmetry
Bolt Charge has been added to Symmetry to increase its viability in the sandbox.
Still Hunt
Previously, Still Hunt for Hunters with Celestial Nighthawk was dominating the Destiny 2 PvE meta. After nerfs, the weapon fell out of favor. In Renegades, the Golden Gun shots of Still Hunt, while using Celestial, are increased and will work with Sniper’s Meditation.
Witherhoard
The auto-reload time of Witherhoard is decreased to increase uptime.
Duality
The hip-fire effectiveness of Duality is being increased
Chaperone
Chaperone is being changed to the Rapid-Fire slug frame damage and fire rate.
Ruinious Effigy
Transmutation Orb kills or damage against minibosses/bosses/champions increases Ruinious Effigy damage.
Izanagi’s Burden
The special reload will now scale with the reload speed stat.
Tesselation
Tesselation will build more transcendence energy, and being transcendent will increase the damage from special reload shots. Every special reload will reload from reserves and can work with no ammo. The catalyst will have increased scorch and slow stacks.
Deathbringer
The spread of Deathbringer’s clusters is reduced to increase its predictability.
Black Talon
Black Talon will be able to suppress targets, gain an increase in damage if a target has a void debuff, and will have more total damage.
Deterministic Chaos
The Machine Gun can now pull ammo from reserves by releasing the trigger after a Vexadecimal projectile.
Worldline Zero
Tesseract will now have the correct damage instances. Worldline Zero should have more damage in Renegades.
Wolfsbane
Wolfsbane is seeing the light attack damage and perks increased. Players will also have more damage resistance.
The return of Still Hunt to the Destiny 2 meta is not expected. While Hunters have been lacking in damage in the Edge of Fate, buffing the Sniper significantly is a surprise. Bungie is also suggesting that Sniper’s Meditation will be in the next artifact, along with other Sniper-related perks. There is also a Heavy Sniper Rifle coming in Renegades, meaning we are likely heading to a Sniper meta.
