The Destiny 2 TWID revealed significant information for the Edge of Fate expansion. Melee abilities and Glaives are getting reworks in the new expansion, hopefully making it better to balance melee builds and bring Glaives to the fore. While the numbers may seem crazy at the start, we will need to see them in gameplay in the Edge of Fate. Fortunately, we will have the shooting range to test numbers.
Destiny 2 Melee Damage Changes
The current melee damage in Destiny 2 increases multiplicatively. Instead, in The Edge of Fate, melee damage increases are additive. As an example, if two melee damage sources are 50% (1.5x) in the current sandbox, they would stack to 125% (2.25x). In The Edge of Fate, they would stack to 100% (2.0x). To compensate for these changes, the base numbers for most melee abilities are increased. With the new stats system, players can build into the Melee stat to further increase their melee damage, and it is multiplicative to other increases. One note is that melee damage will no longer scale Scorch and Ignition damage.
Glaive Rework
Glaives have been lackluster in Destiny 2. With The Edge of Fate, they are becoming more relevant. Glaive melees will count as unpowered kinetic melees. The change allows the Glaive melee to benefit from melee damage increases and trigger melee ability effects. However, the base damage of Glaive melees is decreased.
- Glaive melee damage against minors and Desi majors has been reduced by 40%.
- Glaive melee damage against Champions and minibosses has been reduced by 28.5%.

Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs Speaks Out on Matt LaFleur’s Unclear Plan
There is no denying who the alpha is in the Green Bay Packers running back room. After burning rubber for 1,329 rushing yards to go with 15 rushing touchdowns on 301 carries in the 2024 NFL season, Jacobs is expected to carry most of the load again in the Packers’ ground attack in 2025. Besides being a reliable and effective weapon on offense for the Packers, Jacobs was also durable in his first season with the team, having appeared in all of Green Bay’s 17 games in the regular season and in the lone contest in the NFL playoffs. Look for the 27-year-old former Alabama Crimson Tide star running back to be there starting in the backfield along with quarterback Jordan Love in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. But as for his availability and usage in this coming Saturday’s preseason opener at home versus the New York Jets, it won’t be surprising if he gets zero snaps at all, considering that there’s really nothing important on the line. Jacobs is ready whenever he’s called upon by the Green Bay Packers Jacobs said on Thursday that Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has yet to convey a concrete plan for the Jets game. Nevertheless, he’ll be ready. Sure, the Cardinals could go on some long winning streak and change the perception around the club once again. That would be great, but right now, the odds of the club making the playoffs are slim and that's why the Cardinals traded the three relievers before they could hit the open market in free agency. Once the season ends, bigger changes are coming, though. Cardinals at crossroads that will start to be answered this winter The Cardinals used the trade deadline to move on from some of the team's players heading to free agency that didn't have no-trade clauses. The Cardinals opted against trading players under team control beyond this season and guys with no-traded clauses made it clear that they wanted to stick around, including Miles Mikolas, Sonny Gray, and Willson Contreras. Nolan Arenado also reportedly didn't expand his list of approved teams from this past offseason. Of the no-trade clause guys specifically, Gray, Contreras, and Arenado still control their destiny beyond the season. Mikolas will be a free agent and spoke about his future and noted he wants to continue pitching, but made it sound like he won't be back with Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "I want to finish strong," Mikolas said. "And I want to do my best to be a good example for the young guys. There are some young guys in here who I’ve seen from their rookie years, seen them mature and get better. Hopefully, I’ve left a little bit of an imprint on them. Show the younger guys what it’s like to go about your work – day in, day out, rain or shine. I’ll be in here tomorrow working out, busting my tail in the gym, getting my work done with the trainers, watching video, trying to get better. Bottom line: I want to finish strong and show teams that I’ve still got a lot of good baseball left in me... "I know teams look beyond that. They’ll look at everything.
